The Facts

1. In the last 3 games against inferior competition we have turned the ball over some 11 times!
2. We have given yup at least 8 big p;lays against the same inferior competition
3. Look at the film. Ben B. is hurt and obviously too slowe to cover any back coming out of the backfield let alone roll off a block
4. We continue to try and make the big D plays with our safeties blitzing and we are getting killed most of the time.
5. We get a decent lead and then waste it away with awful D sets
6. Our safeties appear more interested in the big [p;lays than in playing solid d football
7. Our top back has fumbled in each of the last 2 games
8. We continue to avoid running slants and passing over the middle but when we do, deems like it always results in nice gains
9. I'm tired of hearing about how great our opponent teams are/were. These last 3 games were against 3 opponents who were far inferior to us in talent yet they managed to stay in the games
10. Our coach seems to thin k that putting a game away is a bad thing!
No, I'm not a coot just a fan who understand the game and says that if we don't correct these situation, we will get beat, probably by UNC.
Time for our coaches to wake the heck up and quit this risky defensive play calling and start playing basic D football again.
If you think we win any of the last 3 games without number 4 you are living in a fantasy world. Wake up and see the obvious. WE got some big problems and not much time to correct them.

One game at a time we have won em all. Ain't always pretty but we are 60 min from Being in the playoffs in a year we were hoping to go 10-2. All the facts you need right there

greenville: most of the people on here are totally clueless. They simply do not understand the inner workings in football. People who say we will be better next year are clueless. Take a look at our away schedule and you'll quickly see we have a tough schedule, much tougher than this year.
I personally find the number on here who really understand the game to be few and very far between.
We've played 3 ;patsies in a row and could not put any of them away big time!! Think about that.

We keep almost all offense except Peake (who many, and maybe even yourself) wrote off earlier in year. The DTs are still young. And please let us know your minimum standards before the UNC game next week so we can prepare for whether or not we should be sad about our margin of victory

Fans enjoy the successes of their favorite team. Not sure what one calls spectators who seem more interested lining up an "I told you so" for the next week.
And that's all it is. Fans are watching other games right now. The semi-pros are busy one upping each others'deconstructive theses on the coming decline and fall of Clemson football. Or slinging full diapers at the rest of it. Hard to tell.

Pretty good analysis.
Our biggest weakness on D is at LB. No shortage of effort there, but we need more athletic ability there. Hopefully we get Smith.
The issue with our Safety play is the fact that we are trying to cover up the lack of athleticism at LB. Kearse has been fast enough to do this...but he has not been himself for several weeks.
I don't read the OP as negative...just a realistic assessment. Fedora and crew will do their best to attack us where we are weak. Look for lots of action exposing LB play. Hopefully we'll be good enough across the board to win. We have been so far.
