Truth, I’m gradually putting on enough weight to

Help our Offensive Line! Right now I’d have to be a Long Snapper but I would be considered a fat Long Snapper.
I knew early this year our Offensive Line needed me bad back & all. I’m up to 240-245 so I should be good guard weight by next season, I only need to add 55 more pounds. I can carry a concealed weapon for the bigger games.
Anybody put in a good word with Dabo so I can bring some experience to the Offensive line. We are going to have a dominant run game & pass blocking.
Can I get somebody else that put on a few pounds with me? I really need Thanksgiving & Christmas back to back for 6 months & I’d be set.

I am right behind you my friend. Oldest I’ve ever been and the heaviest too. Sadly I watched the whole P90x video on the couch to see if I could even do the routine instead of actually trying. smh

know the feeling well.i use the virus fear to justify not dieting,as in it'll compromise the immune system.

Why is it when you finally are able to lose

weight, it seems you get within 5 pounds of where you wanted to go and never get there? I lost from 217 to 193 since Covid hit and never made it to the 180's like I had hoped. I keep going up and then back down a pound or 3 but will never see anything lower than 193.( Yeah - I am bragging about the lost 24 but wanted to get a little lower).

You're exactly right, seems like the last small bit of weight loss is the worst! Last winter I was 209 and by summer got all the way to 153, but never saw 150 or lower on the scales. Have now crept back to 165 but I'm mostly good with that since A1C, cholesterol, etc has gotten WAY better, and I no longer feel like mowing the lawn is a potential death sentence.

I’d kill to be 193, that would be really skinny for me, that’s like 9th or 10th grade in high school...lol
I need to diet for sure, crazy thing is I used to work out & look great at 225-230 but now I exercise some daily but not weights & basketball like I used to because of my bad back. I do walk about 4-6 miles a day at a good pace but man I love to eat & I have a sweet tooth.
I eat a good diet & then blow it with cookies, milkshakes, pie or cake. I’m practicing to be a tasting judge on the weekends! Lol
I have to get motivated to lose some weight, my back is better with less weight, it all makes sense but then I keep saying tomorrow or next week.
We need to have a weight loss contest or something to motivate me/us...lol hopefully I can drop to 195-205 that’s my high school weight with a 32 inch waist. I can look at a cookie & gain 5 lbs now....lol ( if I gain 5-10 before we start I believe I could drop 50 lbs)
Sugar-> sweet Tea addiction alone would alone drop my weight 15-20 lbs.
I need ty-bow without out the work...lol

That walking 4-6 miles/day is a great start all by itself I'd imagine! ??
I did totally give up after 30+ year of drinking sweet tea constantly, because unsweetened just ain't the same, so gave in to flavored water gradually. Can't shake the beer tho, that's probably nearly as bad.
The other thing that did help me was getting away from enriched flour best I can stand. Brown rice instead of white rice can be a chore with hash/rice plates or chicken bog. That alone made a big difference for me though. The grainier brown rice can in fact be gotten used to, though I was very dubious at first.

The evening/late night snacking alone is a

guaranteed weight gainer.
So, living near the Lake Murray dammmmmm, I find that briskly walking it daily (3.5 miles) plus cutting out the snacks, milk, most breads while drinking mainly a lot of water does the trick. Keeping busy helps, too, for that keeps me off the couch.
Nearing 74, I decided several years ago to return to work parttime whereby I am on my feet moving fairly constantly while exercising my mind. That in of itself is a sure-fired recipe for me to keep weight down. Hence, my constant goal is the 150-155 range, a weight I have found has me in the optimum health physically and mentally.
And you're right: those last few pounds are stubborn, little SOB's, but they will disappear with a continued regimen.

I did the same, maybe that’s what they meant by the 19, you gain 19 pounds locked up in the house ...lol
If you get it twice you can go for 38lbs.
Our young but talented offensive line would have been much better had they trained & dieted at Clemson in the off-season 2020.
I hope they get that opportunity this season, I’m proud the players did as well as they did with all the challenges.
I look for our team to be much better on the lines & overall this season. That’s saying a lot considering we finished 3rd overall. If we stay healthy we could be looking at another Natty!
It’s going to be an interesting year as most consider this a great revival year! May God bless all of us at Tigernet!

Weight is weird. I was 192 when COVID kicked in. With the restaurants closed or doing less take out, etc, I made a commitment to do better. I was always in good shape even above 190 as I did a good bit of aerobic exercise almost daily. I was shooting for 168 which is thin for me, marathon running day thin for me. I got down to 172, when I developed a herniated disc for no definite cause.
I got back to 175 as I can barely walk to the mailbox and back without significant pain. Now, with eating like a sparrow in Ethiopia, I'm back to 172. Unless the steroid injection or injections help significantly, I will need surgery, so now I've got to really watch what I eat and drink as I'm glued to my recliner for the most part.
Go figure, the extra weight gain over years may have slowly worked on my disc, but now after dropping 20, I get the gift of my first bout of serious back pain. The good news is I now miss 2020!
Good luck to all in your goals! You can do it, if I can. I like to eat!

I reported earlier that I discovered I had congestive heart failure so I had to lose weight. I've gone from 185 - 190 down to 155 - 160. Each morning I weigh and take my blood pressure. If my weight gets above 158 I take a diuretic to eliminate the buildup of body fluid. My upper body now looks like skin and bones. But hey, I'm still here and want to hang around for a few more years. I have seven more years to go on one of my annuities.
