So Grace Raynor got the Clemson beat writer gig over at

Apr 5, 2019, 8:54 AM

the Athletic a month or two ago. I've been getting her columns in my email most mornings and she hasn't written a single thing about the ostarine business in that time. I know a lot of people here got pissed off by a couple of her columns in the P&C, but that little smear campaign they attempted certainly seems to have been a P&C / Sapakoff directive. Didn't Sap even write one or two of the columns himself after she left?

I'll be interested to see how the news is reported by the various media outlets when the results of the appeal become public.

I don't know if Sapakoff had her hands tied but she did not represent Clemson very well at the P & C.

Don’t you wanna know what happened? I do.

Most of the stuff we read isn’t journalism. It’s fluff reporting. And Clemson media has had it good for the last five or so years. But there is a story to the Ostraine thing and I want to know what happened.

I’m not saying anyone is guilty of anything, but someone ought to know something. I’d rather know the truth than stick my head in the sand the way Ohio State fans did last summer.

That's not what Ohio State fans had their heads stuck into last summer .

3 guys testing positive for a banned substance is in no way comparable to the potential program wide cover up of harassment and/or abuse.

You tell’em coot

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

No, the issue was running headlines like

Apr 5, 2019, 11:19 AM [ in reply to Don’t you wanna know what happened? I do. ]

"15% of Clemson players tested positive for ostarine" and "Swinney admits PEDs could have been provided by university."

That's not quoted verbatim, but that's essentially what they published. Investigating and reporting on the story is fine, but the manner in which they attempted to frame it was not.

We already know

Apr 5, 2019, 11:38 AM [ in reply to Don’t you wanna know what happened? I do. ]

that

3 players flinked the drug test. THIS WASN'T ENOUGH TO KICK IN FURTHER TESTING.

The 3 players that tested positive didn't Have enough of the substance in their system to TRIGGER FURTHER TESTING

These 2 facts were not in the P&C hit piece.

What we are waiting on is possibly finding out how the substance was taken(got into their system) and the resolution of the suspension. Any hint that it is a system wide problem is false based on the facts that we already know.

Your little comaprison to OSU is also baseless.

Ah college football fans. Absolutely no objectively.

You don't need journalism, you just need google search

Some Chinese company mixed Ostarine into one of the raw material ingredients used to make nutritional supplements and ships across the globe. Nutritional Supplement manufacturer uses the ingredient and doesn't test its final product for impurities. Big Dex takes nutritional supplement. The end.

Welcome to the global marketplace.

I'd like a story on it as well, but I wonder if there just isn't much tangible information to "report" on.

As for Grace Raynor, I have enjoyed the articles she has written over at The Athletic. She does a nice job. The Athletic as a whole is a fantastic site. Well worth the $$$ IMO.
