could care less about their recruits, could give a
$%&t less about the sec east, and don't waste my time
reading about their coach.
I do care about Clemson and the unfinished business we have
ahead of us this season.

I dont post much for this reason .
I think we need a mod to clean up all these posers .
The same thing happend to the bad apple , they have 8 posts a day and 2 home coots that run the forum.
When i log on here and see 10 coot threads , I go elsewhere.
Dont feed the coots .

He is actually a fan of another team (not Coots) and he said it's his impression that "sidewalk alum" fans tend to be the ones more obsessed with the rival than "alum" fans.
Before everyone goes crazy here, I'm not trying to say non-alums are less of fans or anything. I just thought it was an interesting thought. In my own circle, there is a mix of both, but his thought is relatively accurate.

It has been my experience with fans who are "die hard" over the rivalry typically dont know too much about either team....they tend to say "(your team) is going down soooooo hard this year" but then just respond with "name 4 players on your team", they generally cant, you can name the majority if not all of the roster for both teams and they leave you alone for the rest of the year.

Most of the terrible gamecock fans I have interacted with didn't go to school there. I have some great friends who are gamecock grads and while we give each other crap constantly during football season, it is all in good fun. Never anything spiteful and if anyone crosses the line (on either side) we apologize and laugh it off.

Last time I checked, they dont give banners or rings for beating the rival, they do however give those when you win the conference championship...So, yes it is nice to beat your rival, but beating everyone else in the conference seems a little more important to me

To have the coots beat us 4 years in a row would be freaking horrible. The ACC is really weak this year whether you like it or not. To win the ACC would be an accomplishment but losing to the chickens would mean another year of having to listen to squawking. Ideally I'd like to win both but given the choice, beating the chickens is more important to me this year.

haha poor use of logic- I was simply trying to say that yes it is nice to beat the rival, I want them to beat the rival, but do you want recruits to look at a team with a mediocre season(which is what not winning a CC should feel like) that is highlighted by beating the rival, or a team that has a championship....Yes, I use "them" and not "we" or "us" because the only time I have stepped foot on the field is after the game.
