The biggest difference in the offense for the upcoming

season is at wide receiver and tight end. The Collins boys and EJ Williams are back. Along with Adam Randall and Spector when they are ready to play can give the QB some weapons to work with. Then at tight end Davis Allen and Jake Bringstool can catch passes over the middle of the field. With the improved pass catching of Will Shipley the Tigers should be able to sling it all over the field. Look for this offense to return to the ability for a quick strike score along with the ability to grind out first downs with our trio of running backs.

It'll be nice not to have to see several top wide receivers standing beside each other on the sideline with their arms crossed watching the offense sputter drive after drive, week after week. Hopefully, playmakers will be healthy enough to get in the game and make plays this year.

2 independent variables: can the receivers catch when the QB

on occasion gets a pass close - and can the QB get the passes close.
Not to mention having time to throw b/c of the O line.
In my mind, there are lots of questions on offense right now.

All-ACC WR Talent
May 7, 2022, 2:00 PM
|
|
|
There are 8-10 potential all-ACC receivers on this 2022 team. The other ACC teams would sell their sould to recruit some of these Tiger players.
What is needed is a QB who: - knows the playbook inside & out and has an ability to audible to the best option, - is consistently accurate and can hit the WRs in stride, - is mobile and can avoid the rush and extend plays, - and is an extroverted leader willing to spend his time developing timing along side these talented receivers.
I believe we have at least one QB who can develop quickly and give the 2022 a best shot at the playoffs. This year's coaching staff will have to see it and develop the situation to facilitate this outcome. Dabo has done it before.

Well, we were equally lacking at WR, RB, QB and OL last year because of injuries and inexperience. If I could have a big improvement in any of the 4, give me the OL because it all starts with them.

A viable (reliable) option at QB will be the biggest difference. We had no passing game last year and were run and done.

A 100% Shipley will be just what the Dr. ordered. We never got to see the real talent last year. This kid has it,

You can't rely on just the run, no matter how good he is!

What is this passing to the middle of the field you speak of?

Hope we won’t overthrow our receivers across the middle like DJ did last year.

Will never forget deshaun’s first drive as a tiger, second completion deep over the middle for a td in athens. I was living in NY watching in my apartment going “no, no, no!” and he throws a perfect strike to peake. I was like whoa, who is this kid

Wide receivers and tight ends are only as good as the quarterback delivering the ball. That is the difference.
