about big, big catches in Clemson history. I think my top five are:
Perry Tuttle’s catch v NE (TD)
Hopkins v LSU (4th and 16)
Jerry Butler’s catch v SC (TD)
Rod Gardner’s catch v SC (3rd and 12, set up winning field goal)
Ford’s catch v Miami in overtime for the win

Oh so close …
Aaron Kelly v BC (dropped at the goal line)

My criteria are:
Significantly effect outcome of the game
Significant game
Clutch situation
Athleticism

And, yes, I realize Sammy isn't on the list. That'll probably change next year.

Told coach the Safety was covering high and could cut him off.

Just like Sammy and the long TD against FSU in 2011.

Great catches in the recent era.

It's hard not to put both of Sammy's catches against Maryland two years ago on there..... Just my thoughts.

the tandem TD catches of Dwight Clark (62 yards) and Jerry Butler (88 yards) at Maryland in 1978 for the ACC Title at #5.

Both teams came into this late season game undefeated and 11th ranked nationally. Butler's TD came late in the 3rd quarter, while Clark's 4th quarter catch tied the game at 21.

I can't find video of Clark's great catch in this game, but Butler's is at about 1:20 into this clip.
