"The Alliance" is the name for the schools left behind

Aug 24, 2021, 6:29 PM

... when the SEC starts a new league away from the NCAA. We need to depart this trash asap and get into the 64 teams selected by the SEC before they break off from the NCAA.

The final result of leagues will look like this...
1. SEC League (not part of the NCAA) - 64 teams committed to playing at the top in all sports.
2. The Alliance - left behind P5 schools along with the Group of 5.
3. FCS - no idea how they're going to fund their programs without scheduling the money games against the big boys.

This is either high sarcasm or you are an idiot!

I guess Coach Swinney, among several other coaches, are idiots too???

While not holding a crystal ball for predictions, Swinney did offer his outlook for the future of college football.

"I think ultimately longterm it's probably -- there probably will be a break and there will probably be 50-60 teams -- 65 maybe -- that can go compete for the 12- or 16-team-type Playoff setting," he said. "And then the other 60-65 Division I teams that will probably kinda have their own thing. That's probably where it's going, somewhere. I don't know when that's going to happen.

SIXTY FOUR teams? And if it did we would not be included?

I think that 64 teams will be leaving the NCAA to form their own league, yes. And I think the SEC will lead that movement.

Well maybe it's time you start doing the sec chant on Saturdays, unless of course you've been doing that for some time.

Premier League in soccer. The top 64 woudl play against each other every year and the teams in teh league would be fluid based on rating. Think its a great idea actually.

That's exactly what I'm saying. The term "SEC" is used merely because they're leading the way and will likely be the nucleus to start the movement to exit the NCAA.

You are so full of it! The only way the SEC grows to anywhere

Aug 24, 2021, 9:57 PM

near that, is if the other conferences just fold!

Or the SEC snags Ohio St and Mich in the coming days, and then everyone becomes concerned about getting left behind in the NCAA.

Tbh, I don't get it, the Alliance that is. No contract, no agreements... Not saying it's a bad idea because I have no idea what the idea is.

But it sure feels like a knee jerk reaction to me, instead of a well planned and thought out one.
