First Clemson game?
Feb 2, 2014, 12:09 PM

My first game was in 2006 when i was 11 against Maryland. We lost on a last second FG. But just seeing the tailgating, the tiger rag and everything else was just incredible. What was y'all's first game like?

1962 or 63. The first one about which I can remember any details was in 1967 when Clemson players upset highly ranked NCST after painting their shoes orange.

i was young, sat with my sister in the fsu student section as they chanted "go to h3ll clemson, go to h3ll" throughout the game.
sometime in the 3rd quarter i was stuffed under the metal bleachers as my sis's friends were none too appreciative of my 'go to h3ll fsu' reprisal.
ahhhh, the good ole days.

My wife's big mistake, other than saying yes when I asked her to marry me , was introducing me to Clemson football. Been hooked ever since.

I was 6. Don't remember the game, just remember running around where the WestZone is now playing football with tons of other kids. We did that for years.

Not sure what game it was, but it was during the '78 season. I was less than a year old then. First game I remember being at is the '82 Orange Bowl. I can only recall a couple of things about the seats we had, but I remember being there nonetheless.

I just remember being in awe of how big DV was and how big the players were and how loud it was. I thought we were the greatest team on earth, unbeatable as it were, after that beatdown.

They had the QB from my high school on their team who was arrested by FBI in high school for printing counterfeit money in computer tech class and using it in school cafeteria to get lots of change in real money. Actually got away w it for awhile which shows intelligence level of my high school cafeteria staff.

Western Carolina '91...Ronald Williams' first game as a Tiger. If I recall, he didn't start but he had a huge game.

1965, my freshman year, vs NC State, which we won.

Oddly enough, as a youngster, I had attended a few South Carolina games in Columbia with my Boy Scout troop, but lack of knowledge about collegiate sports resulted in an indifference.
By the time of that NC State game in 1965, my familiarity with Clemson along with "indoctrination" into CU sports via the Rat System made that first home game something to behold.
The one feature of that game I recall was watching kids sliding down the DV hills with cardboard, which was a show itself! From then on I looked forward to the spills, tumbles, yells and screams as part of the DV ritual. lol

Was there with my girlfriend who was in nursing school. I was still in high school. Tigers won a close one 7 to 3 that day. The pre-game parties and after parties and the game made me a CU for life fan. Enrolled 2 years later
