An observation about our last 2 rb targets.

Feb 3, 2019, 1:29 PM

They both plan on playing 2 sports at Clemson. Dukes said he will attempt to walk on the basketball team and Ealy said he will play on our baseball team if he decides to come here.

We do have an excellent selling point on Ealy coming to Clemson. Our football team has an excellent chance to repeat as national champions and he can help the baseball team make it to Omaha and win the baseball national championship. How many athletes can say they were on national championship teams in the same year in different sports.

Come on down, Mr. Ealy, and make it happen !!!!!!

It would serve them both better to avoid a second sport...

and focus on developing skills needed for D1 football.

They may come to that same decision like Nuk Hopkins

did when he quit the basketball team after his freshman season. For now we just need to get them here and that’s a helpful selling point.

The lure of the big bucks for a high draft pick may be just too much for anyone to turn down. I would think that a player of his caliber would get several million dollars up front. Would that be a tough decision for you to make if you were eighteen. I think I would take the money and run but I hope he does his running in Death Valley,

This is true and he could do like that FSU qb ( I forgot his name) by taking the money and then coming back to play CFB if it doesn’t work out. He’s a blessed young man to be in that position.

There have been a lot of players who have done that. Hayden Hurst from Scar did that. He was a first round pick last year in NFL

Ealy has a real shot at being pro in either sport. I think he would benefit from playing both.

I thought I read Dukes say he was letting basketball go to concentrate on football?
