Just because Clemson's substandard play was the major factor in the recent loss we should not ignore or absolve horrible, unprofessional and game-impacting calls that did significantly influence the outcome of this game.
To absolve the Officials of horrible work would be like saying Mussolini and the Italians are free of blame for World War II because Hitler and his Reich are more important. Had the Italians stayed neutral or joined the allies WW II would have certainly ended in 44.

where the referees could influence the game but the referees at this game were the absolute worst I have ever seen. They completely took over the game. There were 3 Pitt scoring drives stopped only to be saved by phantom calls by referees usually on the other side of the field. There is no point in whining about it but you can't sit there and pretend it didn't happen or that it was nothing out of the ordinary.

the refs were absolutely horrendous and took over the game completely allowing Pitt to score atleast 14 more points than they would have without the horrible calls but we are good enough on both sides of the ball to have the game in hand regardless of what the referees do. Saying people should pretend like the referees weren't that bad and weren't part of the reason we lost the game is beyond stupid but at the same time whining about the referees and saying we only lost because of them and them alone is below us. That's reserved for fans of bottom feeder teams that are below their opponents level of talent.
If we lost only because of the referees that means we are at the same skill level as Pitt but the referees were the only difference maker but the truth is we are far better than we played and if we played as well as we're capable of playing the game wouldn't have been close enough for the referees to put Pitt in a position to win the game.

Clemson had just gotten two critical stops on 3rd down and those calls (highly questionable at best) extended drives that led to Pitt scores.
