I would think that’s the norm. You get a lot of skill position walkons but the big boys in the trenches probably don’t see slogging around in practice with little to no chance of seeing the field as a fun way to pass your afternoons in the fall.

Dude 3 doors down from me in Johnstone in 1978 spent 3 months in a leg cast from playing scout team DL. Our OL is about 30 - 40 pounds heavier at each position now.

I had a Clemson friend from High School who wasnt on the HS team but tried out years ago. He made it to the team but then got hurt in practice middle of the season. Didnt get in a game as I recall

What better way to prove it! I bet pigs of your time at tryouts would do wonders for your TNet pulse, though probably not so much for your actual one. May not want to share your TNet handle with any of the players or staff, though. They may not look to kindly on a #### in Tiger's clothing.
