ESPN Seriously??!
Mar 18, 2023, 4:02 PM
|
|
I have never had problems watching our baseball and softball games using the ESPN app, either on my phone, laptop, iPad, or Apple TV. Today, however, I can’t get the baseball or softball game to play. It keeps telling me I’m not allowed to view this contact. And I’m using my VPN via a server in California. What the hell!?
Is anyone else having problems?

It has never been a problem in the past.

I have tried with and without the VPN. That’s not the issue.
But you must not know much about VPNs if you think they are ####!

This is a fact, using my laptop, there are a ton sites that my VPN want allow me to pull up, and they're safe sites that I use a lot, but not until after I turn VPN OFF!!!

He said VPNs are ####. That’s utterly ridiculous. I have had plenty of sites that I can’t pull up until I turned off my VPN as well. That doesn’t mean the VPN is ####. Certain websites will not let you view them if they can’t see your IP address. It’s not always about safety and security. It’s about tracking and other mechanisms.
VPNs serve a very good purpose. They are not ####! But that’s not my problem because I have tried everything and can’t get it to work with or without the VPN.

I have never ever had a problem watching our baseball or softball games. I have restarted everything multiple times.

It’s not that I can’t get it to work. ESPN is giving me the message that I can’t view that content, which is utterly ridiculous! There’s no reason for me to not be able to view that continent. ESPN for whatever reason it’s telling me I don’t have access to the continent. Really weird!

What were you using?

Apple TV, iPhone, iPad, laptop, etc. What did you use to log into espn3.com.
So after you logged in, you went back to the app or reloaded the app from the website?
You said you logged into espn3.com is that a subscription? Because ESPN plus requires a subscription. They pretty much require a subscription for everything these days.
Thanks!!!

I just entered espn3.com and it actually came up just saying espn.com. Then I clicked where the game was posted and got the message that I had to have the App to watch and gave me a link to open the App from there. I never could get it to work clicking directly on the App on my phone.

I ended up having to delete the app from my iPhone

Then download it again and created a new account. And I was able to log into the new account on my Apple TV and it worked. Evidently something got corrupted with with my account. I had had that account for years and never had a problem.

Minus maybe Kirk. ESPN hates us. Wouldn’t surprise me if it was on purpose. I have Direct TV and have trouble steaming as well

That’s what really sucks.

You can’t just use the ESPN app. You have to have some type of provider that carries ESPN and have an account. Whether it’s DIRECTV or YouTube TV, etc. etc.
