Back in Gville. Dad got the big one.

Flew back yesterday. I was able to sit 9 watches and let a lot of decent bucks walk so next year they may be huge (if still alive). Props to my wife for coming out and sitting w me all watches, it was cold AF out there and she never wavered. I ended up not taking a buck as we got 3 as a group and had plenty of meat so didn’t need to shoot anything but a monster buck.
My Dad got the monster buck this morning. He hasn’t got one in 5 years bc he only shoots the real trophy’s. Happy for him as he puts in all the work to get this land ready so my brother and I can just fly in for 4 days and hunt.

I remember those SC days. In Missouri people mostly only shoot larger bucks. And there is a law that you can only shoot 8 points or more. It makes a huge difference.

We desperately need that in SC

but I don't think we have the prison space for it.
I remember when we would easily have 15-30 deer in a field at a time. Now we are lucky to see 4 at a time because of the #### tards that hunt next to us shoot something every single evening.

The law is 4 points on one side for Missouri.

Which means mostly 8 points and some smaller 2.5 year olds w a nice rack. SC should make the same law. And in a few years everyone only kills big bucks.

In SC anyone would shoot him. Now next year he is a trophy for someone.

Yea we have land there. 181 acres

Which is why we let the small bucks walk bc we have enough land to see them next year bigger. And we go every year for the first 5 days of the rifle season. My Dad is there much longer and for bow season. He also goes out in the spring and I plants corn and clover for the deer w the tractor.
This was my first big buck (pic). I was 14.

It’s little but makes it happen. Less kick for a kid. This is the gun my son uses now.

Congrats to your dad! That's a really nice buck! Midwest bucks not only have some awesome racks, but they really get big too. Good times!
