Louisville to Hire Jeff Brohm As New Football Coach

Louisville is finalizing plans to bring Jeff Brohm home.

The Louisville native and alum, one of four family members to play football for the Cardinals, is expected to be named the program’s new head coach this week, sources told Sports Illustrated. Details were being firmed up Tuesday but sources said it was not finalized at that point.

That was my first reaction - Satterfield wasn't fired, he left Louisville to replace Luke Fickell at Cincinnati. Which begs the question, What was Cincinnati thinking with that hire?

I think he took a job at Cincinnati but not 100% positive on that.

I think this is one of those situations where both sides will benefit from Satterfield's departure. It sounded like he just never really gelled with the administration.

Louisville is very fortunate. Satterfield was sometimes ok, especially at App. But I doubt he would ever make Louisville a real threat to Clemson or a resurgent FSU.

Brohm is who they’ve wanted for years, finally got him and didn’t need to pay a buyout to Satt. And they weren’t in a position to pay a buyout since they are still paying for their former FB coach, BB coach and even a corrupt former AD who gave himself a sweet golden parachute.
