Hopefully TE will feel the need to turn some more pages in our play book bc, I think that he is stuck in the 1st chapter of basic offense 101!!!

Give him time to learn the playbook. Mainly just watched him in baseball but I was elated when he didn't get drafted.

I almost wish Dabo would stick him in the slot and cut him loose. By mid season he'd be turning lots of heads.

Will Taylor is also a 3 time (!) state champion wrestler. Kid is a hell of an athlete.

"Maverick" is a good label for Will Taylor and is defined as "independently minded."

The term comes from Samuel A. Maverick who participated in the 1835-1836 Texas Revolution. After the successful revolution, he refused to brand his cattle as other ranchers did. His unbranded cattle were referred to as "Mavericks", and the term became popular for those not conforming to the norm.

Sam Maverick was born and spent many of his early years in Pendleton, SC.

The old “maverick” home place in Pendleton was still standing when I was a student in the early 60’s. I wonder if it still is there.

Unfortunately, it has burned down. I remember it off Highway 88 on top of a hill. It was close to the Central road intersecting with the Pendleton Highway. I grew up watching the Maverick programs on television.
