Question for those that attended the game?

Sep 13, 2020, 12:40 PM

was the fake crowd noise being piped into the stadium, or was this something ESPN was doing in post to the audio track? I was just curious if any of you in the stands could actually hear the fake crowd noise, or if the stadium was actually quiet.

thanks

I was there, but I can't give you a definite answer on that. I was too distracted by the stickers on the helmets to even notice. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

This was the first game in years that I haven't heard the constant horn blowing. I mentioned this last year but a few people had no clue what I was talking about. For the past few years someone blows a repetitive horn while Clemson is on defense.

I've heard that same noise at soccer games. It's been noticable for quite awhile now.

Humorous thing was that the piped-in noise was probably louder that Wake fans ever

did personally and if they ever had been that loud, it wouldn’t have lasted the entire game..even when the play was over.

And, seemed to be the same sound but repeated over & over and Got so bad that I turned sound down!

Guess the Clemson players had a good laugh.

I'm watching the replay of the game and I can't see any stickers
other than the American flag and one that is the number 125. They
must be awful small. Maybe I need a new pair of glasses. I say
as long as they are all good young men, don't let the stickers
bother you, it will pass in due time.

I don't know if they could hear it in the stadium but it was much annoying on TV. I wasn't there, the stickers didn't distract me but I'm still not in favor of advertising for such an organization.

Black Lives Matter Organization. The BLM Organization is not supported by those who are calling for Black Lives Matter.

The BLM Organization is a very small fringe group using the BLM tag.

I polled all of the faces I saw in the crowd. Apparently, none have the ability to talk. I guess you won't get your answer.

FYI....the BLM Organization coined the term. When you use it as a slogan it falls right into what they hoped to accomplish, an affinity for them without even knowing what you're saying.

Exactly . . .

Sep 13, 2020, 2:39 PM

Exactly right. Besides, it's not like the phrase isn't being coupled with other symbols and slogans that aren't equally deceptive and disruptive to civility. It's part of a larger cultural trend. Black power fists, "no justice no peace," "black lives matter," etc. It's all of a piece. Trying to hang your hat on the unobjectionable truth that blacks lives, *do, indeed matter* is missing the point. White lives matter, too, but if you say that, they won't have any of it, b/c they know the language DOES matter b/c of it's connotations. So if it matters, then don't come to us complaining that we disavow the value of black lives simply b/c we reject the motto. We reject the motto b/c the well has been poisoned, and "black lives matter" means a lot more in the current social environment than plain ans simple attribution of value to black people. Anybody who says otherwise is either a lying or has bought a lie.

Black Lives Matter took off with the events over the last eight months.

Do you not believe that black lives matter as much as everyone else? Would college campuses be using this slogan if it was intended for anything other than what it says. All lives should matter to ALL of us.

You are supporting BLM and don’t even realize it. Are you capitalized Black Lives Matter. Wow! I just noticed when I wrote that because I’m using voice text Black Lives Matter is automatically in caps! I’m sorry, but that is effed up!

Saying the words Is one thing, but I guarantee you when most people say it and most people put it on a sticker or on their helmet or on their shirt or on a poster they are supporting BLM! Which is in fact an anti-American racist fascist Organization!

Are you being sarcastic or am I missing something? There were no fans in the stands. In fact, I think the entire state of North Carolina banded having fans in the stands for this weekend. There were no fans in the stands for any games played in North Carolina. At least that was my understanding. I was told from what I heard on ESPN and what I read everywhere was that we were playing Wake Forest with no fans in the stands.

I don’t know about the rest of you, but I actually got a headache watching the game because of that crazy droning white noise that they tried to make sound like fans and had to turn the volume down on my TV because it was literally hurting my head!

No...I paid to make as much noise as possible. I'm hoarse today and my throat hurts some kind of awful. Not worth the little bit of money Wake could pay.

We were hammered at the tailgate and didn't make it in. Sold our tickets to a lovely cutout couple for face value.
