Thanks to a Corn Husker youtuber I watched the 1981 "Natty"

Some take aways:

Forgetting their size difference Jordan to Tuttle looked a whole lot like Deshaun to Mike. Jordan running looked like Deshaun.
Speaking of size difference, people were thin then. Both head coaches were almost skinny. Players were smaller too. Jordan 6' Tuttle 6'
Lack of tv commercials...the youtuber had edited out the commercials but you could still tell how few there were
TV camera resolution was awful except for field level cameras
Half time score was 12 to 7. Pretty much what a first 5 minute score is these days
Lack of receivers...usually there was only 1 on the field. Compare that to today
Our defense was excellent
We were the best team
It was great to watch this again...just as exciting as 40 yrs ago

Class of ‘71. Went through “rat season” and glad I did.

A few remembrances from that special night. Miami was hot. We had to some shorts when we got there. Yes our defense was awesome and was just full of soon to be NFL players. Georgia and Pitt were playing in the Sugar Bowl at them same time and the announcer at our game never used the name of the Sugar Bowl but would say something like "the score from another game is---". We had Nebraska fans tell us they had no idea where Clemson was and they were shocked (pun intended) that we beat them but they were all very gracious and had character. Forty years later, nobody would say they don't know where Clemson is and fans and the world have changed.
