Obed's Zootopia review.

Kids wanted to watch it on Friday...I look for it on Kodi (hypothetically) and there it is in 1080P, no subtitles...SCORE.
We watch it.
Annoying....completely annoying. The movie is trying to make such a heavy-handed statement about multiculturalism that they almost completely forgot about the entertainment part. Fewest LOL moments (even for kid humor) that I've seen in a kid's movie in a long time.
Why do so many kids' movies these days have to try so hard to make social statements?

i also maybe had one chuckle the whole movie. meh.
But your observation reminds me of the pixar movie about the little robot that survived the destruction of the earth b/c of, you guessed it, global warming/pollution. Oh also, I love that they showed humans as super fat that couldn't even walk.
I didn't laugh once the whole movie. But maybe it wasn't supposed to be funny.

Think about it.......

All animals have evolved from "savages" so they can all live in peace and harmony now.
The two groups are the majority at 90% (prey), and the minority at 10% (prey).
The majority is scared and skeptical of the minority, but it turns out the minority are nice guys too, and when they were doing bad things, they were just framed by the majority.
Also, the stereotypes like bunnies and foxes can't be cops, etc.
I'm not getting into agreeing or disagreeing with the message, I'm just saying it doesn't make for a very entertaining cartoon. Seems like they could throw in a few more yuks and a little less social justice.

I'm thinking it was the squirrels who screamed xenophobia as they knocked the birds nests out of trees, and took over the canopy.

Like the Batman v Superman flick. That movie was a solid 5.5/10. The only cool asss scene was WW showing up and saving Batman. They kept showing that in the trailers.

was both good any funny, with the exception of it continuing the long trend of kid's movies requiring the parents to be dead or otherwise absent from the storyline.
