You have to watch the actions and ignore the media. The actions I'm seeing say this is more than a temporary thing. You have vague platitudes by the pipeline company, then strong actions by leaders, as their rhetoric says don't worry. This used to not be so transparent.

Like this C&P from an AP article:

Depending on how long the shutdown lasts, the incident could impact millions of consumers. Experts say there’s no imminent gasoline shortfall, and thus no need for panic buying. But if the shutdown drags on for weeks or more, it could lead to price spikes and low supplies at some gas stations.

More than half of gas stations around my area HAVE NO GAS. Could? Possibly? Alex, I'll take "Meaningless Qualifiers" for $1,000.
