Prof. Jack McCormac

Jun 3, 2021, 12:48 PM

I had made a couple of posts earlier re Jack McCormac and his battle with pancreatic cancer. I regret to inform you he lost his battle with cancer last night. Many of you had an opportunity to have been in one of Jack's classes.

For many years Jack and I played golf together and made several trips to the Masters. My route from tee to green often took a detour to the rough while Jack was always in the fairway. I usually found a lot of lost balls on my excursions into the rough. One day Jack remarked he never found any lost balls. I reminded him there were no lost balls in the fairways.

I had two classes taught by Dr. McCormac. Teaching was his forte. He will be missed. Prayers for his family.

"When I was young, I was sure of many things; now there are only two things of which I am sure: one is, that I am a miserable sinner; and the other, that Christ is an all-sufficient Saviour. He is well-taught who learns these two lessons." -John Newton

Had him for maybe six classes

I’m sorry to hear this. I remember him being so helpful with class work. I also remember I messy office and he always wore khakis and a wrinkled shirt. He was a nice man, very good professor. Mid 1980’s....

I never had Dr McCormac but I grew up with one of his daughters and was over at his house often. He loved tennis and was the only family I knew in Clemson that had their own on-site tennis court.
