DJ is the most mentally-weak high level athlete

Nov 27, 2022, 7:21 PM

I've ever seen.

His body language, lack of emotion, having to be coddled by the coaching staff, are awful.

Seems like a good guy, but definitely not the type of athlete, especially mentally, that you need to lead a team.

You need someone with fire, enough ego to think they can beat anyone, and a no quit attitude when they get punched in the mouth. Dj seems to have none of those attributes.

If it weren't for sports where would this guy be? His personality is not that of a leader for sure.

Thanks for the TD, Big Dave. LOL!

Coward...

TDs are weak sauce. You disagree? Tell me why.

Maybe, maybe not.

Honestly, I think the opposite.

I know it's crazy but consider this. A lot of folks are all up in arms because of how this season has gone (certainly warranted) and DJ has been up and down...yet this guy still runs on to the field to play QB despite the heavy criticism when he could easily walk away (which I'm sure most fans would prefer him just walk away) -- could you continue to come into the office or workplace each day hearing similar criticisms about your work performance each week despite trying to fix it or work with management on your issues?

IMO that takes a lot of mental strength to deal with on and off the field and also why I think the coaches are probably quick to stick up for DJ. Doesn't mean we have to like it or can't have opinions on how we'd like to see things managed but to call him mentally weak isn't completely accurate.

That said, I certainly know what you were meaning here in that you'd prefer to see what the last few QBs have shown -- heart, emotion, playing with some swagger at a high ability we became used to.

Personally, I'd love/hope to see them work CK2 in the next couple of games despite naming DJ the starter like giving him a series without the other team being up 2-3 TDs -- heck, use him like they use Taysom Hill for the Saints where he just comes out for a few plays even to throw off the defense with some RPOs.
