I'm moving next week...Hate would be the word I use for Comcast so I am leaning DTV. But thanks to lakebum I am now considering neither...

If so, say it's football, then I'd just get DirecTV for the fall and save money the rest of the year by suspending your account.
But if you love baseball, you can't do that. (Basketball, unless NBA, pretty much overlaps with football)
I have DirecTV, but I'm this close to getting rid of it completely. I'll miss HD sports, but seeing the games at all is more important than the quality and I've found workarounds for watching them.

College basketball starts in Nov...

same time the real drama starts with college football, then NFL playoffs go until Feb.
By the time basketball is in the spotlight, it's March and it's almost over. (NCAA tournament is really the only thing most fans care about anyhow)
NBA is different as I mentioned.
