How many people out there still have

Jul 12, 2021, 7:50 PM

a supply of toilet paper and paper towels stacked away from panic buying last summer? I might have to buy some by mid- 2022.

Not me, I always figured I could string my garden hose

Jul 12, 2021, 7:53 PM

through the bathroom window, and use it as a bidet. I think the "Gentle Shower" setting on the hose nozzle would have been about right. :)

Now that is funny bc, when all those idiots rushed out and cleaned off all the store shelves in the country, I had to use my phonebook, and that was the only time that I was glad that I lived in cootlumbia, that is a thick phonebook, and I could use two pages each time!!!;)

Sam's is the only place that has more TP and paper towels than me. I have them stashed everywhere.

you and people like you are the reason there was a shortage. If true market pricing had gone into effect there would not have been a shortage as the following would have happened if TP were $5 per roll:

People (like you) would have horded less
Suppliers would have flooded the market with inventory at $5 per roll
Users would have found alternatives like reusable washcloths or newspapers

But our econ education is so poor in this country that market pricing is considered gouging instead of an instrument to control the marketplace

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Apparently there was actually no shortage if everyone was

Jul 13, 2021, 10:49 AM

able to buy enough for an entire year. Why isn't construction materials price increases considered gouging in the world of econ education?

Being single ... my TP supply will probably last until

Jul 13, 2021, 7:52 AM

2023; paper towels until 1st quarter 2022. However, believe it or not, I didn't panic-buy.

Me either, I've never been one of those sky is falling people after a news report of what may happen. Those folks wake everyday hoping for something to put fear in the world bc, good news won't sell, bad news will!!! :(

I was already keeping a supply....did not need to buy during the panic. Only restocked after the craziness. True Clemson guys are always prepared!

Judge yourself JStone, not me and others. I bought my supply after the panic buying when stores were well stocked. Apologies are in order but I don't expect that from you.
