Talk radio here expects Savage to begin as the starter

Most people here in Houston expect Savage to begin the season as the starter. Bill O'brien actually runs a pretty complicated offense, and its tough for even vets to come in and pick it up right away (Let alone a rookie from a HUNH spread offense)

So i think most people at least expect to see Savage begin the season as the starter...but...

I anticipate Watson becoming the starter by midseason for a couple of reasons though:
1. Savage is ALWAYS hurt...Always
2. The QB play here in Houston has been beyond terrible for the last 5 years. If Savage struggles at all, the fans are tired of seeing bad QB play, and with a 1st round draft pick on the bench...the fans are going to be screaming for a QB change
3. Most people think Bill O'brien is on a short leash...if Savage struggles, he may make a change to Watson, as a last ditch effort to save himself

It's not going to be close in my view.

Savage was drafted out of Rutgers in 2014, his stats since:

2016 63% compl. 461 yds 0TD 0INT

2015 Was not one of 4 qbs to play that year.

2014 52.6% comp. 127 yds 1TD 1INT


Deshaun will be starting by 3rd game.
