Terry Don ran a clean ship. I sure hope Drad does the same

Sep 5, 2014, 9:50 PM

and does not get us in trouble like he did GTECH. I still don't understand why President Barker wanted this guy.

I really do not care if he runs a clean ship or not. I remember hearing Gene Stallings talking about his tenure at Alabama. Though I do not remember the exact words he said, the gist of it was that being a top caliber coach is all about weighing risk vs reward. The consequences of probation are mild compared to the benefits of winning a national championship.

When and where did you see Stallings saying that? *l****

It doesn't surprise me a bit to hear that abt Stallings. It is generally understood that everybody in the SEC cheats. AU and Bama are probably the best in the business at it....and that probably more to do w/ their success than anything else.

How did DRad get Georgia Tech in trouble?

Sep 6, 2014, 1:34 AM

He probably had no idea these things were going on. Based on his tenure at Clemson, has given me no reason to think that he is doing things in an unethical way. And even if he were, I don't believe that those around him would allow it to happen.

D-Rad and Tech

If D-Rad did not know all that was going at Tech he was incompetent.

If he did know, he turned a "blind eye", plus he did not cooperate with the NCAA. That led to harsher sanctions for Tech.

I really can't believe Barker hired him.

He just another overpaid staff member we have.

Partially Incorrect

Sep 6, 2014, 7:07 AM

Georgia Tech was penalized specifically due to Paul Johnson disobeying orders from the NCAA not to discuss the ongoing investigation with a player prior to that player being interviewed by the NCAA

Your other argument is credible. I also think that DRad was a fall back option after our other top tier candidates turned us down.

The AD disobeyed NCAA and talked to football staff. Our AD has two majors during GT tenure.

For our AD to run a dirty program he first has to have

staffs to run bad programs.

Of course, I can't surmise about all our programs, but the above means that Coaches Swinney, Brownell and/or Leggett would have to run or tolerate skullduggery in our three major programs.

Nothing any of those three have done or are doing now would suggest anything close to deliberate violations, and I don't and wouldn't believe they would tolerate such.
