Observations based off Dabo's post scrimmage presser

Aug 13, 2022, 3:36 PM

1) not once last year did we hear of the offense doing anything against our defense. Today was obviously different

2) not once last year did we hear our OL won the day against our DL. Today was obviously different

3) not once last year did we hear of our QB(s) making plays with their feet. Today was obviously different

4) seldom last year did we hear of our WR not dropping passes. One drop according to Dabo today

My opinion, our defense has not regressed.

Draw your own conclusions from there.

I can second this as attending a scrimmage last year, the defense looked light years ahead of the offense and it was hard to tell if the D was that good of the O that bad… turned out both were true. This is really encouraging.

Dabo led off with how that normally is the case

in the first scrimmage. Not today.

Good on good?

Or was this the 1s vs 2s, 3s and frosh? Were the QB running by design or because WRs couldn’t get open or OL broke down and flushed ‘em?

I for one am glad you are stopping. You are one of the most ignorant posters ever. You obviously think very highly of your own opinion, unlike the rest of us - RockHillTiger

Agreed. Loved the rbs had a good scrimmage. Especially glad to hear Cade had a good day. I think we really need DJ to progress and be the starter but when the backup gets tons of praise as well it could lead to the competition required to get qb where it needs to be.

My gut tells me the same. Dabo talks a lot, and he's always

Aug 13, 2022, 8:04 PM

on message, but his spring and pre-season assessments are usually straightforward and fluff-free. If he tells you a particular kid is looking good, or the offense/defense is looking good, it's usually borne out in the season.

I read the reports and listen to the pressers

and last year nothing good was said of DJ or the offense in general in fall camp. We found out why. Dabo didn't go out of his way to ridicule the offense, but the lack of anything positive stood out. Dabo loves to be positive, and it was hard to find until late in the year with the young RB's and the Collins duo
