Yesterday evening, my caller ID on an incoming call popped up saying "Regional Medical Center", which is the local hospital, which my family doc is affiliated with. Since my wife and I both have upcoming appointments, I answered, thinking it would be the old "Press 1 to confirm your appointment" type call.
It was not the hospital or doctors office at all. It was some arsewipe trying to sell me an extended car warranty! I tell you, I was mad enough to pop a couple of blood vessels. It was bad enough when they spoofed a number in the local directory, but now, they must have the ability to just create a caller ID name to go along with it. ^%$#@!

I get a lot of those fake Amazon calls. Also a bunch w fake local numbers who go to vm and say nothing. I've never understood that or the one that you only get the last half of their message.

That was me man. I’m telling you this car warranty is what you need. Anything that happens to your car under this warranty will not be covered but you will be doing your economic part in society by giving some auto repairman from USuC a job.
I spoofed the hospital number on caller ID in case you blew a gasket and needed to call them real quick you could just hit redial. I thought I was doing you a favor. Jeesh

those were actually scam artists trying to get info to steal our identity.

except it was some creepy old man’s voice saying “getttttt ….vaccccccinated….”
Or maybe that was when I turned my TV on. I don’t remember. Anyway…it was really weird.

I get the “car warranty” calls several times a da.y. I told the caller once that I was very interested in the warranty and he was very excited to learn he had found a sucker. He asked me about my vehicle and I told him I drove daily a 1996 Nissan 240sx with 272,000 miles and he quickly let me know that they couldn’t help me! After calling him a few names not allowed on tenet he hung up.

That's nothing new. They mask calls on caller id all the time with other business and residential numbers. Been going on at my house for several years. That's why I let my old school answering machine pick up.
