it's a pleasant change from the velvet, Carolina blue warm up suits. And the new image could really enhance recruiting. Jimmy Buffett had one hit song and is a billionaire, I think that captain's hat has real possibilities. He could open a Tiki bar next to Walk Ons, call it Gritaritaville. Get his captain's license and take recruits on 3 hour tours of the nuclear reactor on Lake Keowee. Begin annual sailing adventures around the world after the first game of the ACC tourney to raise NIL dollars. Play Judge Smails in the team's musical production of Caddyshack.
It's called branding. I like the new image. It exudes confidence in his charting the course towards our basketball relevance in the 22nd century

Jimmy Buffett put out a ton of albums, toured non-stop, and most importantly... 1) didn't blow it all on drugs, 2) didn't have a bunch of divorces and/or multiple Baby Mommies, and 3) was a very shrewd businessman and smart with his money. It's amazing to think his net worth is greater than Jagger, Sting, Elton John, etc.

I am with you Striperfan. I love Jimmy's music, but bless his heart, he can't sing. He is a lifestyle and escapism and people love him and what he stands for. Plus the dude can fly a seaplane which is cool. I listen to him frequently!

Not the best voice but definitely a great entertainer and, as you say, creates an atmosphere of escapism. Heck of a song writer in my opinion.
I’m not a huge Buffett fan by any means, but I respect him and enjoy his music. I once saw an interview where they asked if he ever got tired of playing Margaritaville and he say no, never. He said every time he plays it he sees a sea of happy people singing along. I think that’s pretty cool.

If I just gave you a thumbs down I am sorry. I will make it up to you. I would argue that he didn't have many hits, but "He went to Paris", "A Pirate looks at 40" and "Son of a sailor" were masterful, just not enough mainstream. I have played the first two for my 20 year old children and they have added them to their playlists

Little Miss Magic about his first daughter is beautiful. Funny songs, Peanut Butter Conspiracy, Kick it in, Second Wind, Great Filling Station Holdup. I had most of his stuff through the late 80's but it's been lost over the years, but can sing a hundred of them around a campfire
