Coaches have to teach DJ to run and explain to him that they don't have the O-line thats built for him to just sit back and throw.....like he did against Notre Dame or at his former high school.
Coaches have to teach the O-line better pass protection because they don't have the type of Quarterback that likes to run.....like we had in the very recent past.
All of this should have been recognized better during the off-season....but its showing now that Clemson was going to continue to do what Clemson does and not what the players can actually do. Nothing wrong with having your own style but you have to have the players that can STRONGLY do what Clemson does on offense to keep doing it like a predictable machine that can't be stopped.
T Lawrence can definitely drop back and pass but he also is nifty runner. DJ can drop back and pass but his running is basically 4 or 5 yards and a cloud of dust......if he wants to ever do it.....because lets face it he is not a fast runner.
Dukes .....Rencher....Mafah...its time to step up and be the running game. Which comes back to the O-line.....and how much can they do. How much can they do??
I can't believe that we're still talking about what needs to be done, or what we feel about the play calling bc, Dabo said that he didn't need any advice, that they new what their problems were, and that it was simple things that they had to fix, and would. We just need to understand how young these guys are that are making the simple mistakes. So we really need to just sit back and watch how our simple problems get fixed bc, it pisses Dabo off to keep hearing what the people on the outside has to say!!! So I guess we should Take Kirks advice, and shut up!!!
