Have heard the same, he is a good HS coach and member of his community, works with youth groups and volunteers for community projects. People say he is a solid guy these days. He was a wild pony in college to be sure. Sometimes guys grow up and mature. Sounds like he has.

Hard to forgive the pose on our paw, but when he was in

Greenwood he impressed me- Sent Gaines Adams our way and when Gaines died, he wept so hard during the radio interview that you couldn't understand him. Years ago he tied up his pontoon next to ours during the Fest. of Flowers flotilla and some very drunk Clemson fan let him have it for some time- him and his mother. I was ashamed but can say Tanneyhill kept his cool and took the high road. Tanneyhill didn't seem all that big on the field but he was huge. Could've crushed the guy without a doubt. Tanneyhill was the better man that day. I'm sure he sent a few from Greenwood towards cootland though but have to give credit when it is due.

Goo Holtz refused to even look at him because Adams went to a small high school that played 8-man football. So I'll be easy on him for having a mullet.

Sometimes, there's something about age and experience

Feb 8, 2014, 5:30 AM

that triumphs youth and unbridled passion.

Steve Tanneyhill has simply matured into a responsible adult and a pretty darn good high school football coach.
