TAMU backing out on Gator is proof that the bowls...

Dec 22, 2021, 5:51 PM

outside of the CFP are worthless and nobody cares about them. Now we don't just see players opting out but now schools opting out. There should be a financial penalty to the school opting out. WAKE did nothing wrong and had a good season. Now they currently have no one to play. More Bimbo Fisher BS if you ask me.

I personally enjoy bowl season because I like to see the matchups you normally don't get to play during the regular season. Example: Clemson playing an Iowa St team for the first time ever (I think). Naturally I would rather see us in a CFP game, but we got what we got this year.

Go Tigers!!!

How do you keep Gamecocks out of your yard?
• Put up goal posts
What does a Gamecock grad call a Clemson Tiger grad in 2 years?

I like to think we’d send the scout team

If it ever comes to it, I’d prefer to see all the walkons and a few cheerleaders take the field rather than forfeit.

Send the intramural champs. I’d still watch and wager.

Is there still a club team?***

Didn't Wake want to play the game? Other teams have already played in bowl games in the past few days. I don't think Wittle Jimbo represents all of college football. Some want to play, while a few may not.

Just when you think college sports can’t get any more screwed up , well, here we go.

Rutgers and Illinois are both trying to take TAMU’s place

Dec 22, 2021, 6:31 PM

Ditching games is a thing JimBo brought from FSU not all of college football

They only have 40 players available and more testing positive every day. Looks like a few teams are willing to play wake anyway.

I for one - enjoy the bowl games! PLUS

Dec 22, 2021, 6:42 PM

The bowl games are extra practice! If you do not make a bowl game - your football team cannot practice football!
This is why it was such a huge deal and quite honestly; still is a big deal! Football players get better playing the game; not just working out!

The exception of being allowed to practice and getting 3 weeks of extra practice over a team that didn't make it - "is huge"!

Then obviously; if you have done all that practice under the primus of playing a game; you may as well play it.

If it's only about a championship from a fan's standpoint; I get it "I Guess"! But, seeing some senior have the game of his life when they know they aren't NFL material and will never play the game again is worth seeing!
Seeing the kid that was stuck on the bench, but due to opt-outs or injury - they break out during the bowl game and are primed for next season to be a star. All of that has happened in bowl games and stories just like that. Plus, I am just a football head that likes to see the game executed, blocked and tackled. As long as it's important to enough of the players who are not able to go pro yet and who want to take advantage to put something on film - I will be watching as will many other people.

Correct, the 15 extra practices is valuable ****
