I'm not saying we have more than everyone else--it's just amazing how many more people it takes to run a football program than it did just a few years ago.

I'll take your word for it. I haven't compared our staff numbers with other schools.

carefully chosen wording in the subject line:
“many” - so if we have a bigger staff than 20 football programs, which I’m sure we do, he will say he was right.
Trolling 101
And Clemson hater - without question.

You have to remember we are a top program that brings in probably $40 million or more from football. Dabo's calling card is family and he has a big family around him and as long as the big bucks come in, the big bucks can keep going out. Are all the positions and assistants to positions necessary, depends on whether we are winning or not.

I agree. My point is that there is so much more involved in running football operations than there was a few years ago. I had not looked at the total staff in a while. It shows how far we've come.

And as many as there was listed I there are more as I know Ricky Sapp is on the strength & conditioning and did not see him. To your point, yes the staff is much bigger now than it was 15 years ago & heck of a lot more than in 1981 when we won 1st NC

Some will eventually develop and up as on field coaches.
Did I miss Taj Boyd?

Wow, I counted 67. That's 1.27 (85/67) allowable scholarship players per staff.

What a difference 50+ years makes...that plus two recent national titles. Just would have never imagined this kind of big time stuff when I was at Clemson!

The picture needs to be updated. CBV and CTE are in this pic. Number of people will probably be around the same with the new picture.

Bama. I think he tries to hire every worthwhile ex-coach in the land as a "Special Advisor," or "Special Advisor to the Special Advisor".

The list is really outdated as others have stated.
The number of on the field coaches is capped at 10 but there is no limit to the number of staff.
Saban was the first (I think) to carry a big staff so the coaches could be freed up to coach.
Paul Johnson publicly complained that GT was trying to run their program with a hand full of staff and CU at the time had 30 or 40 on Staff so the playing was far from level.

Hopefully in that group there is one coach responsible for repeating, "take the 3 points" in Dabo's ear on 4th and short early in scoreless games from within easy field goal range.

College football needs to right size itself. Next time you go to an away game, count the Clemson players that run onto the field and the number of Clemson staff members that accompany them onto the turf. It is close to a one on one situation. There are an excessive number of employees getting paid by the money put into the sport by fans. The demands on the fans who provide the money are ever increasing. The number of fans is not ever increasing. Something's got to give.
Unfortunately given the lack of any overall organization it seems impossible for any sort of agreement to limit the size of the programs and so limit the spending to come from within the sport. A decision or agreement to right size would have to come from people who get paid by the sport. In many ways this is the same thing that happens with most government activities.
