Don't see any other explanation. Coach Mule is stubborn, but not that stubborn.
At this point, I'm ready to see QB3. Maybe somebody can get DJU right, but I really have my doubts. Same with Ross. Both of those guys are 3/4 of a bubble to the left.

He came in because DJ's helmet popped off and he had to come out for one play. Taison handed the ball to Shipley for a td run. Helms, DJ, Dabo, Streeter, you or I could take the snap and hand off....

I can recall several times when DJ handed off and nothing happened, Remember the big play in the ND game when ETN fumbled????

Sending him in for one play in a pinch is way different than believing he’s the guy to turn it all around.
TP was originally expected to sit most if not all of the season with his torn Achilles injury.
He made amazing progress just to get back on the field. We need to remember that.
Maybe, just maybe, his injury status precludes attempts to give him full responsibility for the entire offense.
Maybe the coaches and medical staff have something like this in mind.

Maybe when we almost lost to Troy or before Trevor got hurt against Syracuse. Maybe when we couldn't move the ball on OSU. They have certainly had bad games. Of course I'm not gonna argue that DJ is on their level but I don't see our coordinator giving DJ the same chances as he did DW or TL. We have no plays designed to stretch the ball down field.

Deshaun got benched vs UGA in his first college game.
He came in and had a very impressive drive for a TD. The UGA adjusted to him and he was having absolutely no success.
The coaches sent Stoudt back in to finish the game.
I think this was mostly to avoid a Watson injury or ruining his confidence, but he was benched in terms of sitting down and not seeing the field again that day.

Deshaun never got benched the uga game. That’s how the coaches played him. Cole got the first 3 drives and deshaun would come in on the 4th drive. Then the 5th drive Cole would come back out. They did the exact same thing until the FSU game, when they decided to go forward with deshaun as the starter.

TP is a better running QB than DJ, but is coming off a major injury and has a way to go to catch up to DJ in the passing game

If TP7 is really medically cleared to be able to play without injury to his ankle we should give him a chance and let DJ watch. Game seems to fast for some reason for DJ and he is struggling with accuracy. TP7 has looked good at times and he was one of the top duel threat QB's that came out when he did. Id DJ keeps struggling should see how TP7 does.

I've seen much worse qb play than DJ(Korn, Proctor, Nealon Greene)
Unfortunately the fan base has been spoiled by deshaun and Trevor the past 6 years and expect instant success. We have to give the kid time but everyone wants to keep up with Bama. We just don't have the offensive line or depth to do that right now....

Don't include Nealon Greene in that list. He had the best touch on his passes plus he was wearing the gigantic shoulder pads!

He looked like a deer in the head lights for 3.5 quarters and was super erratic and all anyone talked about on TNET was “oh man we are screwed if this guy plays!”
Then he had one good drive that Ajou Ajou made him look OK on and now everyone is crying for him, it’s a joke.
