What I learned on T-Net this week
Sep 27, 2021, 6:59 PM
|
|
1) The offense is broken because of poor play calling
2) The offense is broken because of the OL
3) The offense is broken because of the QB
4) The offense is broken because we don't target the Tight Ends
5) The offense is broken because Dabo hired all his friends on the staff
6) The offense is broken because Dabo has to many kids
7) The offense is broken because CJ ran off our 3rd string RB
8) The offense is broken because Chad Morris is losing as a High School coach
9) The offense is broken because Dabo thinks he's Chad Morris
10) The offense is broken because David Hood won't ask the tough questions

The consensus seems to be that the offense is broken.

Which is surprising, because I thought that we didn’t stink.

offense on the floor for 11 years. That's not bashing, it's an honest assessment. Just like saying the football offense is bad this year is an honest assessment. Just in football, it's a rarity, not the norm.

When has Dabo ever had this level of talent underperform this badly?
Sep 27, 2021, 11:02 PM

Never.
Fixing this is going to stretch his capabilities in a new way. I believe he will figure it out, but I don’t believe he knows how that will look yet.

Talent doesnt always equate to cohesion

Let's look at basketball which you and I both love. Duke had a roster of first round picks last year, same with Kentucky. Yet both were really bad by their standards. They had individual talent, but did not play well together.
That's our offense this year. OL is majority at new positions or out of position like Bockhorst. WR lack diversity in skills. QB is playing lost. The sum of the parts is disjointed and the results show. I honestly don't think it gells this year to the level we are used to, though I think there can be improvement.
And yes, Dabo will evolve and fix it. He'll need the offseason to do it though IMO

Don't forget, The offense is broken because Scott was the real brains behind it. He is lighting it up in Florida.

Had a hectic summer. Plus, it's bad enough sometimes reading people try to diagnose what just happened, let alone what's going to happen

I learned the difference between "to and "too. See below:
Dabo has TOO many of his 1 star kids sucking up scholarships and hanging around for 6 years when we could really use the those spots and reps for legitimate players, especially this year.
