Tigernet vs. TCI

I like how the boards here are user fan driven as opposed to owner driven.... as such they aren’t complete click-bait for advertising. 90% of TCI board material is initiated by the creators of the site and whose sole purpose is to get clicks for ad revenue.

Not sure why you are pitting one against the other as each have their positives and negatives. Why not take the best of both or if one bothers you simply don't visit the site. Otherwise it seems petty and silly

Like TCI, I think the #1 purpose of TigerNet is to drive traffic and make money. Not enough folks have a little "R" by their user name for this not to be the case.

How else does one explain the frequent posting of Finebaum takes on the front page. Typically a user is first to post it. That post gets a lot of clicks and within hours - if not sooner - Finebaum's tweet is now a front-page news item drawing in more clicks to the story.

But like you said, a lot of that is fan driven. Folks complain about Finebaum but they will click on the story. TigerNet gives the people what they want.

I have no urge to go over to TCI. I come here for the banter and the David Hood original content.

TCI is a fragment of what they used to be. Owner driven posts to generate clicks, watered down info, and the smugness to think they know more than they really do. I cringe to think these people represent Clemson when they attend a sporting event.

TigerNet has the layout I prefer, with a front page for stories and a separate message board for discussion. I also like the way TigerNet separates message board topics by sport. The volume of posts on TigerNet makes it fun for discussion, but also super annoying since many of the posts are trivial or off-topic.

TCI is harder to navigate since it's all a message board format, with extra clicks required to get to an article. It's also sometimes hard to know before I click if the topic is something that interests me. However, I do like the fact that the site owners post regularly. I feel like I can get to know them better that way. I also really appreciate the fact that it's exclusively dedicated to Clemson discussion. Not allowing troll posts and other off-topic stuff is much appreciated.

Both sites clearly care about Clemson, and seeing Clemson sports succeed. Both provide outstanding information. So I don't view it as a "versus" situation at all. I frequent both.

I would like to see many more places on the web to waste some time reading as to Clemson Tigers. I post on Yardcrap as to Tigers after a beer or 3.
I search for Tiger articles.
One can read as many or as few as they choose.
I check here daily. I have seen some sites try and fade. More is better.

I like and visit both sites. TCI has lots of threads by staff and that's what they are supposed to do. Seldom is a thread hijacked and someone called an idiot or moron. Both sites have lots to offer so lets enjoy reading about the Clemson Tigers.
