The fact that you think that this is the ask is the problem.
Black people demanding to be shot at a lower rate for non-violent crimes is kinda the point.
I think you're a good person and a good guy, Smiling, but the fact that you don't understand "their" approach is kind of the point of the whole BLM movement. You're creating a self-fulfilling prophecy, whether you like it or not.
I have no doubt that you do/don't hate black people. And I haven't suggested such. But when you go out of your way to defend white supremacists in some sort of weird way, that's where I weird out.

The difference is, I know you didn't mean that "all black people are victims ...", I was just making a point, but you really don't know any better, and think you have to explain it to me! Blacks commit violent crimes at a much higher rate than whites, you know this. Blacks are litearlly slaughtering each other in many cities. The reasons are complex and the long history of racism in America is certainly a contributing factor, but attempting to unravel and rectify that as a singular cure all is foolish and ignores other factors that would yeild better, faster results if we're sticking to the subject of the OP - violence in the cities mentioned.

I think a better way to frame these is that blacks get incarcerated at a higher rate than whites, the alleged crimes are irrelevant because poor blacks are FAR more likely to make a plea deal to stay out of jail, and out of court. fact.
And Smiling, you kind of painted yourself into a corner here. three arguments can be made, and all three can be true, they are not mutually exclusive. Although 1 can be excluded IMHO.
1 Blacks are inherently(as in their DNA) more violent, hence they commit more violent crimes, some of you stop just short of saying this.
2. Systemic racism is a real thing and blacks get arrested for violent crimes at a higher rate than whites.(see the three rednecks that chased a jogger down and shot him like a dog in the street, they were not charged until the media made a spectical of it)
3. The conditions in the lives of Blacks, assuming 1 is not true, specifically poverty, scarcity, and lack of opportunity, lead to criminal behavior.
Ok Ok, there are poor whites that do not commit violent crimes, well false, they do. See #2.

Nothing like a Southern rural town. I've lived in both. Chicago has always had pockets of crime, and has historically had political issues. It has gotten out of hand under Marge Simpson's cousin.

I was pointing out that the violence problem in our worst cities is not likely caused by systemic racism within the police department and government.
There are many issues that lead to violence, a racist police department is very low on the list.

Racism is in their mind 24-7. Unfortunately the term has been thrown around so much that it has lost its power. And that's really a shame. Because there are racists out there, and they should be called out. Pointing out that bad policing may not be a racial issue, is not racist. 'Racist' has become a control word in a debate, that's about it at this point.
