We understand but here's a little tidbit for ya, we all make more money by having us in your conference.

build their football back up & i hope it was part of their presentation to the conference skewls; it should have been a must have on the acc's part.
wvu is a sore point with the addition of uofl once umd jumped ship. a lot of peeps wanted their passionate footsballz fan base, but "the acc" has a thang against their academics... enter uofl. oops.
swoffy takes too much of the blame, but he's an easy target. the acc has been basketball/backy road centric since its inception. the big money is in footsball right now.

amen. good post. But you're right, Cuse needs to get our football back to top 25ish and I really think we're headed there.

I don't want Uconn or Nova. To that end I also did not want

Cuse or Pitt. The ACC has enough programs that can't sell out a small football stadium, we didn't need more. However, we have a conference commissioner who has a clear basketball centric agenda.

There are some very good reasons for the lack of a sellout and somewhat apathy re the SU football program. 1. Syracuse, like many towns, is a fair weather fan town contrary to what their ardent fans might say. The football program has been down and for a fact, playing in the Big East did NOT help any. 2. Their recruiting has been, to put it mildly, horrible! 2's and 3's and once in a great while a 4. That simply does not get it done in today's Division I world. To win consistently, you have to have the talent and they have not had it on any consistent basis of late. 3. The Syracuse area is a highly taxed area and most of the manufacturing has left for a variety of reasons. The result is that there is not the disposable income there that once existed. In short, a reasonably large number of people simply can't affords the prices. 4.Poor marketing on the part of the school has led to some problems in penetrating the existing marketplace for SU football. 5.The people there tend to be very defensive about the area ( a natural inclination) but unrealistic in what other places in this country have and why people moved to them. Be assured, it wasn't all about the weather! against public schools 6.SU is a private school and it is very hard to compete with larger publicly funded schools. Sad but true.
Finally, SU can and possibly will get back to its glory days of football but it is a very hard task given what has occurred both at the school, in the marketplace, and in the sport in the last decade or so.

Is the assumption that these conferences give a turd about what fans want. If the Acc could weasle Washington st out of the PAC ...they would.
