Syracuse fans overreacting?

Syracuse fans are still upset about Dabo's decision to go
for a touchdown instead of kick a field goal on 4th and
goal at the end of the first half. They've even named an
award for him in honor of someone (writer, coach, etc.)
who shows the most disrespect for Syracuse football...
opinion not based on fact or whatever.

Of course Dabo and Clemson were one of the 3 finalists
for the award, but interestingly were in 3rd place:

While I think we should have just kicked the FG, the 28
point lead we had at the half (35-7) after the failed TD
attempt was hardly game over. After they came out and
scored a TD early in the 3rd, it was only a 21 point lead
with plenty of time left and they had momentum.
Besides, wasn't the verbal assault with profanity on
national TV by Coach Schafer a little disrespectful or at
least not very classy. And some of their players had been
kind of trash talking the week leading up to the game. Oh
well, they have a chip on their shoulder, they hate us,
and we may have another rivalry brewing

I can tell you they love to create reasons to hate rivals. Their next Georgetown. It's great. But, if they're serious, I hope they bring Jim Brown, Ernie Davis, Floyd Little and Larry Csonka all to Clemson when they come next year.

I'm from there and they are a total embarrassment. Starting with all their pregame talk--we're gonna lock the doors and keep Clemson in the "loud house?, we'll kick the crap out of Boyd, We'll hold Sammy up at the Line of scrimmage, you'll never score 30 on our defense (they forgot to add in the first quarter), in 2014 we might upset Clemson, ND, and FSU! My response--open your wallets and let's talk serious turkey!!
Over the years they've had some great teams and players but not in recent times and they just can't seem to get over the fact that they are not a player on the national stage.Their total ignorance of the facts is astounding
and their knowledge of football, recruiting, coaching is even worse!
I was at the 2013 game and that little dome they play in is a piece of doo-doo! Loud House? Yea until they were behind by 21 after the first quarter! Their loudmouth, foul speaking coach is a disgrace and should have been fired for his vulgar words on regional/national TV. Then again, why would anyone want to live there with no jobs, no economy, welfare beyond belief,poor weather, etc. Some of us with at least a half a brain got out some 20 years ago and never looked back.
In Death Valley in 2014 I certainly hope that we give them a good, sound beating and teach them that when you haven't got it,time to keep your mouth shut!
Can't wait fore the 2014 Tigers!!! Just might be a special year!

things you mentioned about Syracuse. Like no jobs, no economy, welfare beyond belief. You can add in meth use, one of the worst public school systems in the nation, high STD rate, some of the most dangerous highways in the nation, a top ten state for violence, and number one in domestic abuse.
So I take it you didn't move to South Carolina, since you have moved away from Syracuse. Because the problems you were mentioning about Syracuse is a thousand fold here in South Carolina.

I don't think anyone here was disrespecting them, we were just stunned by the (over)confidence coming from their fans and team.
And then for them to do on the field exactly what we thought they would... Where do they have any room to continue stuff like this?

The best part of this is the irony:
They don't like Clemson fans because we were "disrespectful" before the game saying Cuse could not hang with us. They are mad at Dabo for going for the TD to put the game away since they in fact could not hang with us.
The pregame quotes from Cuse players were pretty funny. They have entrenched themselves as a poor man's NC State - could do something once in a while, but no real concern for actually winning big.

The majority of Syracuse fans are like the former high school football star who never did anything else in their life. Now here they are 50 years old, working the counter at the local sporting goods store and getting in bar fights anytime anybody suggests they aren't the best thing in the world.
