their balls. They would not have been able to have a season unless we allowed them to play. Any fool that has any business sense would have gotten a secret, binding, agreement that Notre Dame would join the ACC in all sports. Notre Dame is laughing at us now and may end up in the Big 10. Way to go Swofford!

Sorry allorangeallthetime52®, but that is so lame bc ND would have just sat out the season. Yes, they would have sat out or would have gone out scrounging to cobble a season of sorts together.
Furthermore, a “forced marriage” usually doesn’t work out. For anyone to think that them joining as a football member school was even a remote possibility…well that is just lame.

put on Clemson in 1983...pushing for an extra year of probation on top of the two the NCAA gave us. Then dragged his feet big time on getting the ACC Network going!

I agree. Swofford is a POS but to think anyone was going to strong arm Notre Dame Football to join a conference full time is laughable.
They would have played group of 5 teams or not play at all before they let that clown sucker them in to a conference.

They could have played in the ACCCG. The extra game and being a P5 conference champ with one loss (just like UM) could have gotten them in the CFP over Cincinnati even though they lost the head to head. So instead getting to lose to Alabama in the CFP, they got to lose to OKie State in the Fiesta.

It was dumb I will agree but there is nothing that we can do about that now. Stay positive and hopefully the next big conference or Clemson involved with a conference decision will be better for CLEMSON!

I agree. Right now, other than $s per year per team and the SEC/B1G will have more teams, we have no idea whats going to change, if anything to start. Who says if Clemson keeps winning the ACC that the Tigers won't be included in the CFP. I haven't read anything or heard of any rule changes that state anything differently. Currently, there's too much speculation and uncertainty. It will all play out over the next year or so.
