I expected. Guessing Bakich has a lot more work to do than we thought. Hoping we can find some pitching somewhere but my guess is we’re going to need lots and lots of runs. Go Tigers.

They did seem to have a good ball team, but again we just seemed to find ways to lose the game.

I don’t think they were better than us In hitting. We need to find power. And we need to to be better and fielding bunts. All three games a bunt followed by a throwing error doomed us. We only had 1 homerun but his series, that’s not going to cut it. Cam and Blackwell have been .500 hitters that is impressive. Wright and Taylor had a decent weekend hitting. We just have to find power and don’t rely on 3 or 4 base Hits stringed in a inning. Also Ingle struggled a little with base hits, but he hit the ball hard almost every at bat. He just had bad luck and hit shots right at people. Take 3 bunts away and all 3 games my go our way. Hopefully next weekend the ball bounces in our favor!

Game 1 they had 7 hits we had 7 hits. Game 2 we out hit them by 1 hit. Game 3 they out hit us. But game 1 and 2 I would argue we out hit them. We didn’t hit well with runners and scoring position and pitching staff had too many walks. We need to practice bunting and bunt defense.

Their defense looked good. They made some great plays. We hit some hard balls in game 1 and 2 that got smothered by them.

The bottom line is that they were just much better than we were, particularly their hitters. That team beats us 9 out of ten times, but it at least gives our guys some perspective on what we are going to have to do to be successful. In the long run, I am not sure this was such a bad thing ....... although it hurts now.

And he has some good freshman to utilize. Cam has been our best offensive weapon. Hitting and stealing bases. He’s been solid in center. Jacob jarrell has been solid catching and has been a decent hitter. Tristan Smith and Joe Allen both look like great arms.

All of you predicting greatness after playing two nobodies are beginning to realize reality. EB is not the next Casey Stengell. We are not a good baseball team. Gonna be a long season. Also, the guys from Michigan and the mid West are not that good.

I glanced at UCF's results for the last 3 years or so, and I believe they missed the tournament all 3, or 2 out of 3 of those years. Looked like they won 30-35 games each year so they weren't bad and obviously UCF is a huge school with good resources for sports. I would imagine they will make the tourney this year. As for our boys, I believe we will see improvement throughout the season.

UCF 2022 was:
14-10 conference record
35-25 season record.
I dont know their post season record but the looked like a really solid team last 3 games. So I hope they are a great team, hopefully a top 10 team would be great. If they are a repeat of last year then we have a long ways to go,!

The "new program" hasn't even gotten started yet. Things don't change overnight, but this staff is a knowledgeable and proven staff. We have shown some flashes and we will improve on that. We're getting a lot of contact on the ball, and pitching will settle down in time.
Can't expect a CWS championship in year 1, but we will grow.. even as this season progresses.

They're better than us but it isn't as bad as a sweep makes you feel. They better enjoy this. It won't become a habit.
