....And people sometimes wonder how the German people

could end up sending people to labor camps and the gas chambers...
Whenever those in power and influence in a society identify a whole segment of their citizenry as "unclean", "unworthy", and the cause of their societies ills things quickly go downhill. Hate is a powerful emotion and that is why Marxism has always used it as a tool to bash their opposition/enemies.
The politicization of COVID has brought out the inner totalitarian in our political class. Statements like "this is a pandemic of the unvaccinated" is meant to demonize and blame a segment of our society for COVID remaining in our midst. Never mind that the statement is totally ignorant of the facts - it allows the political tyrants to find an enemy and heap scorn, derision, and hate upon to obfuscate their own shortcomings.
By the way, there are some Democrats that have also said that those who refuse the vaccine should not receive ANY medical treatment no matter their ailment. Such nice, caring people who always tell you that under "single payer" medical care that your healthcare would never be rationed.
I simply cannot understand why a lot of people in this country (mainly Democrats) cannot see the universal truth that the more power a Government gains the more tyrannical it becomes. Yet some continually call for more Government control and involvement in every aspect of our lives...

It truly is amazing how ignorant and weak minded a large part of our population has become. With our bold and historic stance on individual liberty it’s hard to imagine.

He's a complete a$$hole. What a ######### this guy must be to be around. Just can't even think straight once he sees facts that unravel his echo chamber narrative.
Keep your head in the sand buddy. Maybe you can think about holocaust day today and wonder how you came to be - all the rest of us are.

It came to be, because a bunch of out-of-control far-right-wingers were fueled by their own Big Lie - that dirty Jews had stabbed the Germans in the back and stolen their rightful victory in World War I from them. Sound familiar?

I do not believe that, but it is supremely irresponsible.
Mind, if this was a biosafety level-4 pandemic - which is end-of-the-world stuff, like smallpox, Ebola, Marburg, Lassa, or some of those really scaly Brazilian flaviviruses - you'd better believe the government would be doing block-by-block shutdowns, and summarily capping anybody who broke quarantine, or instead of "just" the million dead we have courtesy of biosafety-level-3 COVID, we'd have 100+ million dead or more.
That's what the Black Death was. And when smallpox or the Plague hit, towns that got locked down would put heads on walls if people tried to leave.
We can only afford so much "freedom." When your "freedom" starts looking like you're spreading viral death to everyone you touch because you think you have a right to, there comes a point when you're so dangerous to everyone you come in contact with that the government is going to cap you. And they have to, because it's just cold hard math.
I don't know where that line is. But there's a million dead here in the USA and there's a disturbing segment of our society that seems completely indifferent to it.

You should develop some better insults. The same words over and over are a little boring. if you're going to be harsh, at least try not to be dull.

I would say to you that American civic virtue is a balance between individual rights and public duty.
Please do not sit here and condemn the left while the right is falsely claiming elections were stolen and storming the Capitol.
And no...as a guy descended from German farm-labor unionists who ran from Germany in the '30's, we are not on the path to Nazism from the left. Nazism is about out of control right-wingers. This inversion of history really...angers me on a gut level it's hard to articulate.
Just a history lesson, since you - and you are a smart guy - seem to have forgotten:
America: January 6, 2021
Germany: November 8, 1923

I'm not a Dem, I'm an angry RINO Never Trumper who voted GOP every election up until 2016. And Fox Nation has gotta stop comparing the left to Nazis, because the way they're mangling history is very...Nazi-like.
Stalin was history's champion genocide; he killed 30+ million in purges. But he and Hitler - who was only the silver medalist, with only six million deaths to his bill - were assuredly not on the same team. Though Stalin thought they were, right up until the moment Hitler turned on him after they divided Poland between them in 1938 and Stalin discovered Hitler had absolutely zero interest in turning the world into a classless idyllic worker's paradise. What Hitler was really after was to exterminate the "subhuman" Slavs and take their land for the Master Race.
Hitler's thing was actually the Big Lie.
