Sure wish my Dad were alive to see his Tigers these days.

Nov 30, 2016, 5:17 PM

Dad played for Coach Howard on the undefeated '48 team. We had season tickets for years and I spent many Saturdays with him going to see the Tigers.

He played for Spartanburg High and played in the Shrine Bowl. Coach Howard even held his scholarship for him until he got out of the Navy in WW II and could come back to play.

He passed away in 2003 but I know he would be having so much fun seeing his Tigers over the last eight years. I hope he's looking down from heaven and able to enjoy it and hope to talk to him about it one day!

Gene "Sunset" Carson - a great man, father, and Tiger! See you when my chores are through down here Daddy Gene!

on the last play kick versus NC State a few weeks ago ! He delivered the win for the Tigers !

Old Frank himself was probably there too calling the play in to him from the sidelines !

I did have a great Dad. Very blessed.

Not sure of your situation with your Father but I can encourage you that we all have One True Father who we can always turn to - and who is perfect. And who wants the best life for us. I hope you know His love and that He knows your name and calls you "son".

Also, I see your Army logo and wanted to thank you for your service and sacrifice for all of us. You are a true hero.

He sounded like a great man. Don't worry though because he is watching. One day y'all will be able to talk about it together

Was thinking the same about my dad today.
Class of 55.
Killed in an accident in '91. Gosh it has been a long time. Still miss him.
He did get to see the Berlin wall come down and the Tigers win a Natty.
and he made sure I was a tiger for life.

Happy that we both have great memories with our Dad's. Nothing like the times we shared with them in Tiger Town pulling for the Tigers and spending time together.

God bless!

Enjoy those memories.
My first games around 1960 also included my Grancfather.
And now I have the great joy to have taken three of my grandchildren to Clemson and see them raised as Tigers in Charlotte.
The 4th grand child and youngest - is coming our way and dresses for Clemson games and can say Go Tigers…but his dad (my son is a bulldog from UGA but pulls for Clemson otherwise). Goal - next year we go to death valley so he can get it in his blood. He is just 2 now and shy of loud noises…so we did not take him this year.
Great to be part of 5 generations of Tigers.
Best to your family.
And great to be in the TIGER family.
