Suppose it is the year 2025 and both……

Clemson and FSU are in the SEC. Our schedule for that year is as follows ( I won’t distinguish between home or road games ).
Texas Texas A&M Oklahoma Alabama Georgia FSU LSU Florida South Carolina
Will we still waltz through this schedule undefeated?

Remember as they think 9-3 in the SEC is the same as 12-0.

If these super conferences shake out, it will be more like the NFL with the national champion having 2 to possibly 3 losses on a fairly consistent basis.

Natty will never feature two teams from same conference and everyone in the P2 has an equal shot at title.
CFB as we know it is over, but let’s be realistic — only a select few teams are capable of competing for a national championship every year anyway.
A 9-3 Clemson with a schedule composed of Bama, UGA, FSU, SC, OU, TAMU, UK, UNC, UF is more worthy than a 12-0 Baylor vs KU, Hou, TTU, KSU, UCF, ISU, TCU, WVU, OKST.
Then again, I’m already sounding like an SEC homer slamming an ACC schedule. It is what it is ????? — I don’t make the rules

Well, why would Clemson not have any of the same SEC cup cakes in our schedule, as Bama and Georgia would have with the exception of USUC????

Kelly will be on his way out at LSU Napier will have had three consecutive recruiting classes in the 40’s Beamer will be on his way to Blacksburg Saban will be wandering the sidelines confused and angry Novell and Jimbo will both be on the hot seat.
The game with OU will be the highest rated game of the season with 15 million viewers tuned in.
The Texas game will be the second highest rated game as Heisman front runners stage a QB duel.
Clemson loses one game in that stretch on their way to their 6th natty.

Beamer will not be going back to Blacksburg unless he turns UofSC in a winning program. ... Ain't gonna happen.

Of Course, no SEC team has ever had to play all the top teams of the conference...They always play the patsies, like Vandy, Mizzo, coots, Kentucky, etc (in other words, Eastern div teams, LOL)! And, many of the "powers" have had down years, that make them patsies also (the TN, Fl, Miss teams, Auburn). So, the question is rather moot. But our 2016 and 2018 teams would stand a chance!

Not a dumb question. I was attempting to get some of you Clemson fanatics to think about the possibility of a really tough schedule. Everyone on here keeps talking about Vanderbilt, USUC, Miss St, Missouri, et. al and how Clemson would walk all over the SEC. Just trying to show you guys the waltz through the SEC might not be as easy as you think. We have only been very, very good for about 8 years. We really don’t have that strong of a history before Dabo and he won’t be here forever. Some of you guys just need to tone it down a bit. We will not dominate the SEC.

A conference like this would benefit from NFL-style scheduling
Jul 10, 2022, 9:59 PM
|

You play your entire division plus another in-conference, one from the other conference, and two games vs teams from the remaining two divisions in-conference BASED ON DIVISIONAL RANKINGS (would work with better with pods), but your remaining two games).
East (1): UK, UNC, UVA, Tenn, Vandy East (2): Clem, SC, UGA, FSU, UF West (1): Bama, Aub, Miss, Miss St, LSU West (2) TAMU, OU, Tex, Ark, Mizzou
If we win our division, we’d theoretically play all of East (2) and one of the other divisions plus the top team in the remaining two divisions. Last place team would play the teams with the same ranking in those divisions. It creates parity and gives way to more teams being able to make playoffs in NFL.

??? 72 Tiger where were you from 1980 to 1992? It fell apart when Danny was forced out, but that solidified where Clemson should be. Dabo finally got us back to where this program should be consistently. I would even say above where my expectations would be on a consistent basis. This is a top 15 program historically.

"Before Dabo Clemson had no history" Clemson was already a top 20-25 program historically in nearly all meaningful statistics BEFORE Dabo.

but other than Bama at 50/50, a fluke LSU, and a once-in-41year UGA team, who wouldn't our usual teams be able to beat?
