Success in the "Second Season"?

I personally will think this team has achieved their "talent level" of success in the Tourney if they make it to the Elite Eight. We have the talent to win three games to get there, but we HAVE to avoid those dreaded "bricklayer" games where we have 10 minute scoring droughts. That won't cut it against Tournament competition, just as it did not against anyone in the ACC.

I’m just glad we have a Friday night late game.

My game plan is to drink heavily, and we’ll just see how the game goes.

REGARDLESS of what happens, we won't be among the very first teams bounced out of the tournament!

You think we have the talent to get to the elite eight and vegas has as a two point dog in the opening game. Perhaps you should simply enjoy the game and pull for the tigers instead of trying to set some standard which will be used to disparage our coach, program and players in the event they don't meet your uninformed expectation.

I didn't take the post as 76 was trying to set unreasonable goals. I read it as a compliment on our team.

Agree 76 with your assessment. We definitely have the talent and probably got the most favorable bracket that anyone could. First game against Rutgers should be just a warm up game.
Obviously anything can happen as we've all seen. No predictions on what success would be. That said, we should easily make the sweet 16 comparing talent.
Odd year for everyone with the covid stuff etc, having to stay in one area. Should be wild and I'm hoping the virus doesn't spoil the magic.

Biggest thing will be adjusting to the refs style of play early. I watched a lot of non-ACC tournament games and, as is the reputation, physical contact will be allowed outside the ACC. Better be ready to mix it up in a way that doesn’t look like you are taking out your frustrations for not getting a foul called.

We have a good bracket pairing. No team in our immediate group would be a major mis-match. Actually, everyone in this group would be "small and deep" so to speak. Cleveland or us might be the biggest team per minutes played. Definitely us by minutes.
Rutgers IMO would not be a tournament team in most years, so we well see. Still, they play smaller and more of their roster.
Houston is build for small-ball, lots off depth - but will have a tricky Cleveland State. Houston with us will depended if Grimes gets into a groove.
Into the Sweetsixteen, WVU isn't as strong of a 3 seed - I am kinda shocked as I would have pegged them 5 or lower. They have decent depth and all around but slid hard at the end. Cuse will try them, likely beat them. Morehead anmd SDSt are interesting but I don't know much there.

I personally think we should be a final 4 team with this group not even counting we planned to rest up so we’d be ready.
Truthfully we should have won the ACC, this would have been the easiest route ever for us. If we had known we would have gotten a bye, Brad would have just worn Miami down.
Brad will get a raise if we make the final four too!
Let’s go Tigers & make a run for the Natty or bust!
