No cars but yours at the landing. No pics of fish. I'm guessing they weren't hungry today.

AND I WORKED MY TAIL OFF IN THAT WIND TO GET'EM. I WOULD JUST ABOUT BET THAT NOT ONLY WAS I the last one at rhe landing....but maybe at the lake...did I say that wind sucked?

I asked my buddy to take that picture because I wanted to

Mar 27, 2022, 7:08 AM

show how bad that wind was. It didn't quite come through in the pic. We were back in a smaller cove and the waves were over a foot. My pants were flapping loudly in the wind and several times the wind blew me off balance and I had to step off the trolling motor. Not a fun day....

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Since you gave 100%, I guess you can

Mar 26, 2022, 10:06 PM

put your filthy hands on Howard's Rock, even though he usually required 110%.

Spud, I was just totalling up all those $$$ signs that go

Mar 27, 2022, 8:01 AM

with a setup like that. If I could have had the success you do reeling 'em in, it would have been worth it. Butt, with MY nonexistent fishing skills? I made the right choice all those years ago, when I left the fishin' to you pros.

:(

boat and electronics...But, I did get a great buy on a 3 year old Ranger ...Saw it on Craig's list. A guy in Columbia had it..His 83 year old father bought it, went to the lake twice and gave it to him. He and his wife went out about 3 times in it and bouhgt a pontoon. .....I was just about to order a brand new one just like it. Lucked out on that one...

By the way, you can go tohttps://www.rangerboats.com/

Mar 27, 2022, 8:38 AM

and build a boat. I did that the other day and built one loaded up to the max. Four 12" monitors, Livescope,Megaview, 300 HP Merc,3,000 dollar self deploying trolling motor(Yep, you can just slide it off the trailer, use your hand fob and lower the motor and direct it over to you at the dock),tandem axle trailer,radar,etc.etc. It was about twice what my first house cost. I think it was 118K.....

But it was nice!!!!!!!!!

Kudos to you Spud for even going in that wind. I usually won’t put the boat in if the wind is over 15 mph. I catch a lot of fish on soft plastics and if I can’t feel the bite or if the boat is moving then for me it takes all the fun out of it and I feel more stressed out than when I launched the boat. Go lady Tigers softball. Gotta keep it about Clemson sports to keep some around here happy.

Mrs. Spud went shopping in Hendersonville, so I was like....

Mar 27, 2022, 11:36 AM

might as well....Had to throw half ounce chatterbaits and spinnerbaits to stay in contact with my bait. But, I caught the only 2 on Rage tail on wood in the one creek I found that was out of the wind and still 59 degree water. The lake had dropped about a foot and a half since Wednesday and about 6 or 7 degrees in temp. If you threw a swimbait yesterday, unless it was straight down wind, you had a good 20 to 30 feet of bow in your line....no way to fish it effectively.

So that was....

Mrs. Spud I saw this morning driving the Spudmobile through Powdersville.

Was visiting my son and his family this weekend in Powerdersville and going home this morning I was behind a white SUV with the "SPUD" tag.

That would have been Spud....Mrs. Spud does not drive

Mar 27, 2022, 9:52 PM

my Denali. She does not like it.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

LOL, $35,000 is a LOT of rounds of chasing golf eggs. I hope

Mar 27, 2022, 8:39 AM [ in reply to LOL! I am small time.....I've got less than $35,000 in my ]

and pray that I get to do that some more in my life. Back issues have me confined to the house and recliner right now. More time for TNet, but if I had my druthers, I would be out there hitting snap hooks. I used to be good at hitting 300 yard drives. 150 yards out, and a 150 yard hook to the left.

(Not really quite THAT bad of a hook, but, unlike most armatures, my "miss" was a hook more often than not.)

Mar 27, 2022, 10:35 AM

So what you are saying is that Spud's hook is better than yours?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Never will understand grown (50-60+) men throwing a hook

Mar 27, 2022, 11:05 AM

into some water and “hoping” to snag a poor little fish & take him away from his family..especially when the fisherMAN has to spends thousands on his equip & boat, licenses & taxes, then gas & supplies and proper clothing..and leave his family & home alone.

But SPuD, you do make it seem more than relevant & needed, when not selling land & buildings, and one has gotta love those sweet PAW caps you wear which alerts not only the fish that you’ve returned but any Coot in a 50 mile radius!

LOL good Buddy and know I’m just ribbing you since I’m not only jealous but admiring of your skills, desire, fortitude, heart, stamina & loyalty to doing everything you do 110%..and sharing it with us.

Keep ROCKing & GoTiGERS!
