Strip SackPlay Sequence

For those that want to blame DJ, here is some reality. Mistakes, Mistakes, Mistakes. Killing us all year.
1st & 10 at CLEM 14?(9:02 - 4th) D.J. Uiagalelei pass complete to Beaux Collins for 9 yds to the Clem 23 - Good pass to by DJ. Collins appears to get 1st down, ball spotted 1 yard short. Bad Spot by refs. See pic. Good play, Bad Luck. - Spot impacts next 2 plays.
2nd & 1 at CLEM 23?(9:02 - 4th) Will Shipley run for no gain to the Clem 23 - 56 does not hold his block against FSU #0, play stopped for no gain.
3rd & 1 at CLEM 23?(9:02 - 4th) PENALTY CLE False Start (LG Marcus Tate) 5 yards from CLE23 to CLE18. NO PLAY. - another drive killer, go from 3d and 1 to 3d and 6. Mental mistake.
3rd & 6 at CLEM 18?(7:39 - 4th) Jermaine Johnson II 6 Yd Fumble Return (Ryan Fitzgerald Kick) - Right Tackle beat badly, DJ does not feel pressure and move up. In throwing motion strip sacked from back right. - Looking for TE84 running an in route at 8 yards. Shipley did not see that as the pressure point, moved up and blocked no one. According to post game interview was supposed to be an out by 84. He was open either way if DJ had the time to get it off. - Strip sack, scoop and score. *** also a holding call on Clemson 74, 74 barely touched anyone the whole play so I really can’t see any holding call on him but the flag was thrown and it would have been half the distance. Second mental mistake by the O-line in this series. - Back judge threw the flag so maybe someone else, but not 74 (see pic)
1st & 10 at FSU 35?(7:39 - 4th) PENALTY FSU UNS: Unsportsmanlike Conduct 15 yards from FSU35 to FSU20. NO PLAY. - gave Clemson great field position after the kick.

Good work & great post, our best OL player maybe ever Walker Parks missed the block but should have been screaming “Fire, Fire, Fire” so DJ would know to tuck the ball of get rid of it.
Let’s Go Tigers, if we cut out the easy mistakes we have huge room for improvement.
We are talented but we need everyone to raise their game or we need to simplify things until we get good at the plays we have.

Why what? Why search for the truth? It's my time and I like to rewatch the game and look for things it's not possible to see real time. Like this whole sequence...
Would love to know the play call so I know what was supposed to happen... that would make it even better .

Dabo has FOR SURE run out of patience with the false start

OFFENSIVE penalties, and the offsides DEFENSIVE penalties. In previous years, superior discipline in those areas (let's face it, all those penalties are is LACK of discipline) had been a hallmark of our teams.
This year, we kill our own drives with these incredibly STUPID (no other way to sugarcoat it) false start penalties. One of the purposes of huddles for playcalls, or signals, or WHATEVER METHOD IS USED, is to convey what the snap count is. It SHOULD be an advantage to our offensive guys to know it, and the defense has to guess. Instead, OUR guys are somehow guessing, and guessing WRONG. Five yard penalties when your offense is as anemic as ours are virtual drive killers.
The obverse is also true. In prior years, many times teams would line up and try to draw us offside with less than 5 yards to gain on 4th down, only to have to call a timeout, or take a penalty before they punted. Why? BECAUSE WE DIDN'T FALL FOR IT! Now, suddenly this year it is epidemic. You could certainly make the argument that AT LEAST ONE of our three losses this year is directly attributable to this keeping opponents drives alive.
I can see why Dabo is so frustrated on the sidelines. ALL these type penalties are things that WE SHOULD BE ABLE TO ELIMINATE. And yet, eight games into a season, they still happen MULTIPLE times a game.
It would probably never fly in todays candy ar$ed society, but having the offending groups run a mile after practice for each offsides or false start penalty in the previous game would get peoples attention pretty well.
Butt, in this environment, they would probably all hit the transfer portal before they made a round on the track.
Okay, I will exit the early morning soapbox now. Not sorry if this dialogue somehow offended your tender sensibilities.

FSU was holding all night...

and the Refs completely ignore it. When they finally do call it, they call it against a Clemson offensive lineman standing all alone in the middle of the field.
Typical incompetent ACC officiating.

I believe the wrong number was stated on the holding call. I believe the guilty party was Parks who is #64.
I feel your analysis is spot on.

Nice work. I wonder if DJ has a vision issue? Peripheral vision? Maybe needs contacts?
