People think choosing your own pronouns is weird. The adjectives some rasslers used for themselves were downright laughable.

more than about 10 minutes of "rasslin" in my entire life. I just never got it. I was maybe 10 or 12 years old, so this was the mid-to-late 60's, and my best friend's older brother was always watching it on Saturday afternoons. Johnny Weaver and his partner versus the Anderson Brothers and all that. I always took one look at it and said - "That's fake." Which ticked off his older brother to no end...
He would have extra tickets to the old Memorial Auditorium rasslin events and offer them to us, and we were like - Nah, thanks but we have other plans. I've just never understood the attraction.

I personally performed Weaver's signature "Sleeper" on my brother several times in our youth. Don't remember it ever working, but he was too heavy to Pile Drive.

it was fake, but by the time I was 12-13 and realized it was 100% fake, staged, and choreographed, that's when it really got good for me. I never went to an actual match until I was 15 or 16, and the spectacle of it all amazed me; mainly how seriously the crowd took it, and how invested they were in it.

Like every kid in the South, I grew up on Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling. I even applied for a job with Jim Crockett Promotions after I graduated from Clemson. Really didn't pay much attention to wrestling as a young adult until Joonyer became a fan of The Rock and WWE as a kid. Over the years, I'd flip past wrestling here and there but still wasn't much of a fan until AEW. In the last year, I seem to be hooked on it once again. The Mrs. and I quite enjoy going to local wrestling promotions when they pop up around us...it's damngood fun.

If so, there were some great ones. Also some duds.
The extreme wrestling ones are pretty freaking crazy. I never watched that stuff and probably wouldn't. Rolling around on glass and tacks isn't my idea of entertainment.
