Business cards - anybody have/use/keep 'em anymore?

May 10, 2022, 10:37 AM

Just cleaning out my desk and I have a couple hundred I've collected over the years. Contemplating whether to toss or keep. Rolodexes are now an antiquated office object also, like a stapler or pencil sharpener.

As for my own cards, I rarely give them out nowadays since people can put contact info straight into their phone. I keep 1 or 2 in my wallet just in case I need one, but they usually get frayed or dirty before I ever use them.

Just wondering what's happening in the current info swap game.

If you are contractor, or do any residential work at all

I don't know how you couldn't have a business card.

Its a whole lot easier for Pedro to hand me his business card that I can stick in a drawer, than adding him as an iphone contact and get his number wrong because I don't understand Spanish for "7".

put a QR code on the back of your card that autopopulates your information into your customers' or vendors' phones.

https://www.hihello.me/

Allows people to auto-add me as a contact, and even gives them the option to send their information back. Has a CRM system, generates an email signature, it's all integrated. The best $72 a year I spend.

It is a formal tradition for them.

I mostly use them at trade shows and make notes on the back.
