Y’all Remember Troy in 2016?

Had to recover an onside kick to seal the game. Watson threw 2 INT’s.
When have we ever obliterated folks at the start of the season?
When is the last time we played a top 5 matchup for the first game of the season?

These young men will be just fine.

the goalline in preparation to do a his TD celebration right before halftime. Which would have put us at 20-3 at the half. Instead next play, defense gave up a huge run and Troy scores right before the half to make it 13-10 instead.There was a plethora of bad plays by all in that game. Defense gave up plays, special teams gave up plays, offense did as well. And troy had a handful of D1 transfers and talent that went on to the NFL if i'm not mistaken. All around ugly game. I called that one the "too big for your britches" game.

Troy also followed that up by beating LSU and Nebraska in the following years under Neal Brown.

That was actually the 2nd game of the season.
We beat Auburn at their place the week before.
Funny, in 2013 we played #5 UGA and SC State
the first 2 weeks of the season also and beat
both but stumbled later on. Maybe this year
will be like 1978 where we lost to UGA early
and won all the rest.

I remember having to convert a 4th and 6 just to beat Syracuse at home in a season that we would eventually go undefeated.
