Outside of Football and Mens Soccer that was gifted to DRad, he absolutely left a mess for Neff to clean up. I've never got the DRad hype, especially after killing GT athletics. Neff needs to clean house of every DRad hire and rebuild Clemson athletics bc the state of Clemson athletics(outside of Football and Soccer, of which DRad road coattails) is mediocre at best. Congrats Miami, enjoy the mess he leaves you in a few years just like he did us and GT.

Totally agree. What's mindboggling is the rest of the administration didn't/doesn't care.

Clemson has had lots great Coaches but always sucks via hiring ADs. Although only been Tiger 58 years first mistake of record during Ford years hired former Furman and his first agenda item he ran off Danny Ford. That AD wasn’t pro Clemson and neither was Rad. I think most of administration was scared of Rad and IPTAY was kinda scared too

Please state what you expect from Clemson, on a sport-by-sport basis. I’m curious to hear.

New and better coaches for each. Someone who can both recruit and manage games.

is to have a coach who has a clue what he’s doing down the stretch of close games. Unfortunately right now that is not the case.
Brownell, Butler and Lee all need to be replaced ASAP!!!!!!

You want Lee, Brownell, and Butler all replaced. What do you expect from each sport in terms of yearly wins, postseason play, recruiting, and academics?

That is going to take a substantially larger investment in our basketball program. Are you in support of that?

Men's baseball - be in a regional every year, host every other year, make Omaha once every five years.
Men's basketball - be in the NCAA or NIT every year. NCAA 2 out of every 5 years. NIT the other 3 years.
Womens' basketball - not a real sport. Butler appears to have the team on the upswing. She deserves a few more years.

I'd say mbb 3 out of 5 years NCAAT.

I can live with that. Running a clean program and graduating your players are the non-negotiable bottom lines. However, I could easily do both of those.

Well, I would say our Men's Golf team is pretty good. I challenge you to spend some time and go back through the last 20 years and give facts, instead of opinions, of years that you consider better. Good luck. We are a football and American football school period.

Let’s look at DRad’s coaching hires in the big 3 men’s sports:
Paul Johnson - lol, no further info needed. Brian Gregory - he hired a guy who was barely over .500 for his career in the A10 to take over Ga Tech. Shockingly that resulted in 5 straight losing seasons. Josh Pastner - after the clear failures in previous hire you’d think he’d have swung for the fences. Nope, found a guy in Pastner who had as an overall losing record and got his team banned from the postseason and a 4 year probation for recruiting violations. You’d think GT would move on but basically they’re too broke to do anything. Monte Lee - welp, we know the story. Successfully destroyed one of the deepest and richest histories in the sport.
You can’t fail up more than this guy. At least one real hire in each of the 3 sports between Clemson and Georgia Tech and all mega flops. Oh yeah, he also saddled Georgia Tech with the ridiculous apparel deal with Russell Athletic. It’s actually probably good he never made a move on Brownell. But it’s time for the new guy to make a move.

Forgot women's basketball hires. Also, Pastner was hired under AD at Tech after DRad.

dang it - I no fact check so good. I didn't think so then I misread the dates when I checked myself. Still absolute mega bust at the big three sports. I'm not dragging lady basketball into this because it's a money pit. I'm perfectly fine letting SCar throw millions of dollars a year down that hole. People claim to love it and they do fill up the arena, but season tickets are like $45.

This constant drum beat for firings is tiresome. Just check the history of Clemson men's basketball. No Clemson coach in history has come close to 18.3 victories per season. No Clemson men's basketball coach has ever had 11 winning seasons in 12 years because Clemson basketball coaches rarely stay more than four years. Have a drink. Have several drinks. It will do you good.

So you would prefer we just become alcoholics as opposed to wanting to win?
That reminds me of some of my trips to Czechoslovakia back in the 1990's. The prior regime made sure all citizens had plenty of cheap liquor and cigarettes. Work all day...stay drunk all night. No time to stir up trouble.

And you're satisfied with 18.3 victories per season? I am not. Particularly with Brownell's mastery of losing games he should win.

Yes, as long as it is on a new coach's salary. Putting money into brick and mortar doesn't yield the same results. See the $63 million LJ renovation.

you know what's more tiresome? having no chance to do squat at the two major sports from January through June. I do not give a crap about the history. If you think that dooms us to failure then what exactly are you arguing against? You obviously do not care how we perform in these sports. Others of us do. We at least want to delude ourselves into believing the new guy might be different. We can't do that until the current guys - who have shown us everything they've got - move aside.

DRad is a 'bricks and mortar" ad. He can hire construction crews to build and modify facilities with tax payer money, along with some donations; however, he cannot and has not been able to hire coaches to lead and improve athletic programs.
Miami will see this as well, as they will build new facilities, but they will continue to lose and DRad will retire in South Florida on their dole. Mark it down!!! His track record says this his method of operation. He rode Dabo's coat tails for 9 years.
